Our modern 3+ bedroom bungalow has one en suite, large bathroom and a further toilet at the "utility" end of the house. The kitchen/diner has an oil fired Aga , plenty of space with seating for 8 at table. It is open plan to the split level lounge which has French windows giving access to an open patio with outdoor table and chairs ideal for BBQ's when the weather allows. Broadband/Internet access via WIFI is good but not fibre optic yet!
The house is South facing and sits above the village with stupendous views of the sea loch and mountains beyond. The village boasts an award winning Spa shop, 2 restaurants, 2 coffee shops and a Hotel. Facilities include sailing club, shinty club, rowing skiff club and golf course with other activities on in the Village Hall. There are many walks and trails in the area with Monro hills close by. Lochcarron is on the North Coast 500; there is a rail station 2 miles away. Close to Skye, there are many attractions and sights for the visitor.
We have been crofting here for 25 years but as we get older have downsized our activities considerably. Our Home is adjacent to the croft and its barn. The "livestock" now just consists of 60 free range chickens for egg production. These will need to be let out and fed in the morning and shut up in their houses at night. Eggs are collected daily. There may be a little 'mucking out' while we are away. This amounts to about one hour's work a day for which remuneration of £11 per day is offered
There is a large polytunnel with vegetables, herbs and flowers which, depending on the weather needs daily watering. The rest of the garden will probably look after itself while we are away but if the sitter is inclined, we have an electric mower for the lawn and there is always something to attend to! The Seal Point Siamese cat - Amberswade Tiger Lily (Tig for short) is 12 years old needs feeding otherwise generally sleeps most of the day and hunts on the croft at night. We have 2 dogs: "Maid" a 14yr old retired working Collie and a 5 year old black and tan Jack Russel called "Belle". They both need feeding and walking at least once a day but they will be delighted if you give them more!.
