South East - East Sussex
Becky
We are away for for 9 nights and would like to find an animal lover to care for our very friendly dogs - golden retrievers aged 10 years and a puppy who will be around six months by then! and 19 chickens, two cats and fish. We live in a rural area of East Sussex, with a small cafe and pub in walking distance and Heathfield town about five miles away. There are beautiful walks and National Trust properties around and other attractions.

This house sit would suit someone who loves the countryside and animals.
Our house is in the village of Burwash Common. The house-sit would include our very nice golden dogs, two cats, and chickens in the garden. Also a fish tank, feeding once a day. The dog loves a walk and there are plenty on our doorstep but they wouldn't need one every day.
There is parking. Three bedrooms, a big and very private garden, wifi. Lots of privacy. Hot tub in garden/
We live up a quiet lane in the countryside in a semi-detached house.
In the small village is a pub which is very friendly and does great food, with a very large garden as well. There is also a fab cafe called The Orchard, great for brunch. Nearby, the town of Heathfield has supermarkets, many others shops and a few restaurants.
The nearest station is Stonegate which is under an hour to London Bridge. this is 10 mins drive away;
We are a relaxed household of a married couple and a six-year-old - so you may find some toys around the place! However we are tidy so will leave the house in a tidy and comfortable state. Upstairs are three bedrooms - double bedrooms so the choice of where you sleep is up to you! There is a bathroom with a bath and power shower upstairs and a cloakroom downstairs. Downstairs is the sitting room with open fireplace (plenty of logs in the store should you fancy a fire), a large kitchen diner with range cooker and fridges as well as a chest freezer. There is a snug with a flatscreen tv with all the usual netflix, etc.
We have a new kitchen which has recently been finished with a log burner as well.
The area as mentioned has a lot of beautiful walks, and Bateman's National Trust property is down the road. There are some fantastic farm shops, restaurants etc around.

Chickens! In our garden in their run are the flock of 19 girls. In the summer we are getting about 12 eggs per day which are delicious. They require letting out into from their houses into their large run in the morning and feeding, and tey like a snack of corn in the evening and being shut away just before it gets dark. They require feeding once a day, and water topped up. They love kitchen scraps like the ends of vegetables.
Happy to answer any questions and give more photos and info on things to do in the area.
