Yorkshire and the Humber - Lincolnshire
Gill
We have a 4 bed detached house on an acre plot in a rural village in North Lincolnshire. It is quite and safe but limited bus routes and no taxi services so a car is ideal.
We have 1 dog (Dalmatian) , 2 cats and 2 chickens and a small fish tank with snails and shrimp.
The chickens require approx 10 mins in the morning, poop scoop their nesting area, replace water and feed. Collect eggs. Then once a week top up the bedding. Then at night pop out to check they are in bed. We have an auto door so their care is simple and quick. Plus you get fresh eggs most days.
The dog needs feeding twice a day and play in the garden. Lead walking doesn’t really tire her and we don’t have any safe places locally for off lead so she just roams our 1 acre plot and likes to play a bit periodically throughout day. She loves to curl up on the sofa with you too.
We have 2 young cats, who live inside but have a cat flap for access. They need feeding twice daily. They also love some attention and games.
Fish tank requires no care for a week stay for 2 weeks or more it needs fortnightly feeding (a slice of cucumber) and 5litre water change every month or so (which takes 15 mins).
Dog can be left for up to 5 hours a day or multiple shorter times.
Depending on the time of year, there may be some watering of plants and vegetables in the garden.
We have a cleaner who comes every Friday - but this can be dropped if needed and a gardener who comes weekly - again this can be dropped. But if they do attend then it reduces the duties for the house sitter.
