Jennifer KILLARA

I live in a semidetached Victorian in the lively medieval town of Faversham, approximately six miles from the coast, 20 minutes from Dover, five miles from Canterbury. There are great walks, concerts/live music events, medieval churches, festivals, restaurants, pubs, and open gardens nearby. The train station is a three-minute walk away, and London just over an hour by train. I have a dog, a cat, 1 aging bantam (NO GEESE OR DUCKS!), a small vegetable patch, a greenhouse and summerhouse, and a few fruit trees. I also have an allotment with fruit, beans, peas, artichokes and swans, ducks, herons, and a kingfisher or two a very pleasant walking distance away and a quiet place to sit.

I have a piano in good condition and recently tuned.

I seek an experienced dog person or couple. I have a dog walker who takes Jona out on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for a couple of hours. With enough notice, she can sometimes have him for longer if, for example, you were wanting to visit London for the day.

I also will ask the friend who helps me clean to clean while I am away.

The cat is an 11-year-old rag doll with a catflap, though he uses a litter tray. The bantam is very easy, and I have no other poultry.

We had an unforgettable housesitting experience! Jona and Morgan, the dogs, were such sweet and loving companions who loved walks and ball games. Bubbles the cat loved being stroked, and Penny the hen surprised us with delicious eggs. The garden tomatoes were the best we’ve ever tasted, and the peaceful allotment by the pond was a delight. Jennifer is a fantastic host—kind, welcoming, and great to chat with. Her beautifully decorated home made our stay so comfortable, and she even lent us ... MORE

CHLOE & YI (Jul 2024 - 1 month 1 week)
Great month in Faversham despite the summer weather not being kind to us. It didn’t stop us enjoying the garden and allotment. Lots of interesting things to see and do right on your doorstep and also very dog friendly. Morgan, Jona and Bubbles were the stars of the show. All so well behaved and loving. Morgan and Jona loved their walks and it was a pleasure to take them out. Bubbles , I’m sure, would have come with us if he could. He adored being groomed and fussed and loves being around the ... CAROL AND IAN (Jul 2023 - 4 weeks)
Jennifer is a fantastic host! From the onset, the communication was brilliant and Jennifer made us feel welcome and nothing was an issue. She provided us with a comprehensive house/pet guide and the handover was extensive and thorough. Jennifer added us to her car insurance so that we could take the dogs on adventures and ensured that we had a parking permit for our vehicle. Jona and Morgan are the most well-behaved dogs inside and outdoors. Walking them was an absolute delight and there ... MORE

We had a wonderful time housesitting for Killara and hanging out with her beautiful dogs; Morgan and Jona and very friendly ragdoll cat; Bubbles. Killara is very welcoming and easy to chat with and we felt right at home at her place. She has a lovely house, backyard and garden, not to mention 3 very cute bantam chickens which gifted us the odd egg. Killara also has a lovely allotment garden, which we loved to walk to with the puppies, do a bit of gardening and just take in the serenity. ... MORE

I had a fantastic experience housesitting in this beautiful home. The 2 dogs are great characters and the cat Bubbles is adorable. The 3 Bantams were very easy to take care of too. Killara is a very thoughtful host and was excellent with responding to any queries I had about the house or the fur babies. Her friends up the street were also very kind & hospitable to me. Local shops, the train station and Faversham city centre are all a short walk away. There are great local walks nearby that make ... MORE

I had a wonderful time in Faversham with Killara's two gorgeous poodles. They are both extremely lovable dogs and great fun to care for. Killara made the stay very homely and was an incredibly thoughtful home owner, as well as generous, even insuring me to drive her own vehicle for example. Her house is well-positioned in the town and there are plenty of stunning local walks in the Kent Downs AONB. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the house-sit or do it again myself. Thank you !

No rating We had our best possible housesitting experience with Jennifer! The dogs are so lovely, very playful and love lots of cuddles. We took them out to the fields, the seaside and enjoyed long walks around the beautiful countryside that sorrounds Faversham. The town itself is lovely, with nice markets, tearooms, livemusic, basically everything you need. Jennifer has a great list of things to do and see in the area and showed us around town when we arrived a day earlier. The cat was like a third ... MORE

No rating We just returned from such an enjoyable housesit - the two dogs, Jona and Morgan, were a joy to look after, so well behaved and good fun to be around. The cat was no trouble at all and loved lots of cuddles, the chickens produced fresh eggs and the garden/allotment a good array of fruit and veg. We loved being there, the house was in a great location - a pretty Victorian house situated within a few minutes walk of the medieval town of Faversham. Jennifer was great and so well organized, ... No rating I had a wonderful time caring for Jennifer's two delightful poodles, very cuddly cat and two cute bantams. The dogs are lovely creatures! They are really well loved dogs who are well behaved and like lots of cuddles, ball chasing, walks by the creek and lying in front of the fire on a cold evening. Francis the cat is very affectionate too and enjoys snuggling up on your lap. Jennifer gave me all the information I needed to care for her pets, including good information about the neighbourhood ... MORE

No rating I had a very nice time looking after Jennifer's house and animals. They quickly crept into my heart and the dogs loved their walks. I have no problem recommending Jennifer's house as a very good house sitting venue.
MICHAEL (Jul 2017 - 2 weeks 2 days)
No rating A lovely sit, Jennifer was extremely helpful and well organised, all my questions were answered on a duty sheet, and this made life easy for what could have been a complicated sit, with two active dogs, a cat and a bantam. Lovely comfortable accommodation, plenty of info on surrounds, and a car was made available, a highly recommended sit
