Detached, countryside home, very rural, no neighbours. Beautiful 3 acre wildlife garden. Accessed via farm track, yet in just over 5 minutes you can be in Dereham with supermarkets, shops, cinema, theatre, pool, etc.
The annexe is now available for sitters. This is a self-contained flat with two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living room. Sitters are welcome to come the day before we leave and go after we return.
We have 2 cats, both are very people-centric (and so miss us terribly when we go away). They will simply move in with you in the annexe, coming and going through cat flaps. We have a number of easy-going hens, they have automatic doors and just need feeding, watering and nest area cleaned daily. The wild birds would also appreciate their feeders topping up. Hopefully still garden produce in October, and definitely a lot of eggs.
There may be a little bit of light watering in the polytunnel please.

I had an excellent couple of weeks at Sarah and John's place! Pepper and Fluffbags the cats are delightful, so friendly and the chickens were great. They have a wonderful vegetable garden too. I felt that I actually learned a lot about growing veggetables and keeping chickens. The annex had everything I needed and the bed was very comfortable. Sat for S&J at the farmhouse - v.friendly, met before they left, w/clear, helpful instructions given for cats, chickens, wild birds, & house.
The cats Pepper & Fluffbags are lovely with a great temperament & will visit for regular attention & treats when not asleep. Do note there will be lots of "gifts" though - and its often not a task for the squeamish.

This was an idyllic place to sit - accommodation in separate annexe, absolutely wonderful cats 'supervising' daily duties of feeding hens, deer, wild birds and themselves! Communication with Sarah and John was great throughout, instructions were clear. The hens were hilarious! It was wonderful to be in the peace and quiet of a real nature encouraging garden. Definitely recommend it!
Lovely rural Norfolk stay in the annexe.
The family have a lovely corner of the island with acres of land which home the ever present and observant assemblage of nature; from the mothering Roe deer to the muntjacs, the birds of prey et al.
The family cats are largely in their own little heaven but do appreciate the occasional human hand, whether a tickle and a rub or a nibble of kibble.
The chicken collective are an interesting bunch who certainly provided me many giggles not to mention ... MORE
