South West - Somerset

( Ideal For Couples or family ) Uk based only Please :) Animal Lovers a Must'

We have 2 Beautiful German Short Haired Pointers who are looking for a wonderful sitter/sitters' experience with dogs preferred ' but not essential' ) to stay in our Lovely Semi Rural cottage ( a short distance to village/town.
We are on the west coast beautiful flat level walks,

Well behaved Doggies whom have there own large area outside to enjoy' Smoky our lady BSH Kitty who is 5Yrs old ) she does not really require much attention as she does her own thing! ( Like Cats Do! ;-)

The Dogs love there daily walk / walks & ball game in the daytime!
they will chill when you do ;) but mainly love the company'
We've a Lovely large cosy Warm Level Cottage, with Log-Burner' Large Space inside and out, and sunny outside areas' Scooby is 8 yrs ' Loves His Chickens and is quite a sensitive boy ' & poppy is 10yrs' Ball Game Mad!!! ;-0 they love cuddles & company' and exercise ' Beautiful Temperaments.
We have 11 free ranging Chickens 'Scooby's Chickens' he loves watching them and protecting them😍
We are about a 12 minute drive to local villages and around 22-25 mins to Bridgwater town.

We Live in the Most Beautiful Area of west Somerset, On the Coast and also Steart Marshes on our door step' lovely flat level walks, we are semi-rural with some local pubs and villages some approx 7 - 12 mins ( all dog friendly'

Person / persons being Caring , conscientious , fairly energetic ' trustworthy and happy to clean daily & look after our lovely home, ( But Most Importantly loving with the Animals :)

Transport is required as we are semi-rural, but not essential as I am happy to drop-off - pick up locally If Required.

We would prefer someone who is happy to chill and enjoy the quieter lifestyle here' and not venture to far without the doggo's 🐶 as they do not like being left alone for long periods' although We Do not mind sitters popping out at all' But not leaving the dogs for any long periods at a time as they become v anxious after a couple of hrs 😌 so a max of 2-3 hrs for them to be left alone please ☺️
Beautiful walks on your doorstep and lovely doggie friendly Pubs etc locally

Enjoy Beautiful Somerset & some free range eggs whilst on the Coast :)

The 1st negative review I have ever posted! Before the Sit, Maria was friendly but, once there, I found her to be increasingly demanding. My partner, there on the last 2 days, did too. Every day she gave me a very long list of tasks to do which took hours, I felt patronised re my pet care ability eg I was asked if I had remembered to feed the hens! When I asked if I could keep a dog on its lead as ,on each walk, it ran off for long periods, Maria was curt & abrupt telling me the dogs mustn't ... MORE

Great sit by the estuary. Had some lovely walks with the dogs. Friendly and affectionate dogs who always came back when called. Smokey the cat easy to look after. Great to have fresh eggs each day.

We had a wonderful time with Scooby, Poppy, Smoky and the chickens… Maria and Rich are lovely and their house is great. Their pets are gorgeous and we couldn’t have asked for more. Fresh eggs every day, beautiful walks along the beach and a lovely comfy cottage to stay in. We would love to go back if they ever need sitters again!

Our first experience of housesitting was beyond our expectations. Maria and Richie welcomed us to their lovely home and their pets were well behaved and a delight to look after - we had lots of fun walking them along the coast and cuddling them in the evening! Maria and Richie were great communicators and responded to any queries that we had promptly and had left comprehensive notes.

No rating I am writing a review as the host wrote a quite scathing review (without rating ) .I accepted the HS last minute as the hosts housesitters who she booked months earlier messed up travel plans). The house was very rural and I didn't have a car but the host was happy with that as they had been let down. Their dogs were a pleasure . I left the chicken hutch run closed on the first night to protect them but the hutch is on a timer and the gate didn't open . The chickens were safe but the automatic ... MORE

This was my first ever house sit and I couldn't have enjoyed it more! Maria and Rich were very easy to get on with, their dogs were gorgeous, their house comfortable and I loved the experience. Highly recommended.

I was made very welcome by both humans and pets when I arrived at Maria's house in its fantastic location right by the beach. The dogs were quite happy being looked after by a stranger and we had some great walks long the coast. I had comprehensive care notes to refer to and my bed was extremely comfortable so thanks for a good weekend guys and good luck with all your plans, I hope I get to see the changes sometime!

It was an absolute joy to sit for Maria and Richie - and Scooby and Poppy, and Smokey, and the chooks! - I'd do this again at the drop of a hat! Maria was fantastic with the communications; and their home is gorgeous - comfortable, clean, "homely" - and in a spectacular location. Each of their pets has very much her o rhis own personality, but each is just wonderful - fun, gentle, kindly - very much like Maria and Richie themselves! Our house & pet sit for Maria was our very first sit. Being our first sit we didn't really know what to expect, like wise for Maria. But I can honestly say we were very fortunate to sit for a lovely family. Maria was always in communication if we had any questions and was very patient, polite & quick to respond. No rating We had a great time looking after Poppy and Scooby. They were full of energy on our walks through the New Forest and always came back to us when called. They loved snuggling up to us on the sofas and we really enjoyed their company. We sent photos to Maria and we had good communications throughout via Whatsapp. Recomended.
