We have a large 4 bedroom house 2 miles from the beach in Llantwit Major, South Wales. We have 1 very large 6 year old dog Baloo who is a Collie, German Shepherd Cross and 1 cat, Capoody. Baloo needs at least a 1 hour walk each day and to be left no longer than 4/5 hours alone and the cat is very easy.
Llantwit is a lovely coastal town on the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. It has a few shops, 2 small supermarkets, several nice country pubs and restaurants. It is a great place to walk the coastal path from and explore the area.

We’ve spent a lovely couple days at Julia’s house during the xmas period. Baloo and the little cat were great companions during these days. The house was close to many places to go on walks and we truly enjoyed playing with Baloo and walking around :)
I had a great time staying in Llanilltud Fawr (Llantwit Major) looking after dog, cat and gerbil.
From the house it's about 30 minutes to the beach and from there you can explore the cliff paths. Balloo (the dog) is easy-going. We had a good time walking along the beautiful beach. The cat is very sweet and little work, but happy to get some attention and be pedded now and then.
My sit at Julia and Richards home was very relaxing and fun.
long walks with Baloo who loves to play, plenty of great beaches not too far away, a nice shopping centre really close.
Capoody the cat is not demanding at all, she loves to be out at night and sleeps a lot in the day, she's affectionate and pretty.
All in all I really enjoyed it, I was sad to leave as Baloo was such a good companion to walk with.

I had an amazing sit at Julia and Richard's house. The pets are super easy and Baloo (dog) is very adorable.
Llantwit Major offers lots of coastal walks and Cardiff is an easy train trip.

Fantastic 10 day stay, Baloo was so adorable and well behaved (with a fetish for sticks ) Had many long walks in the glorious Glamorgan Vale wth Baloo. Capoody the friendly, gentle cat, appeared when most important, feeding time!! (never known a cat with such a incredible appetite!) Luke's Gerbils were very cute & entertaining ( loved chopped apple)

Julia and Richard were very generous and welcoming. It is lovely to have a little space of my own in their home and I was invited to stay even when they were home themselves. The pets are very friendly and easygoing. No problems at all.

I had a wonderful time looking after Baloo, Capoody (sp?) and the gerbils. It was also lovely to meet the whole family before they headed off. Julia gave me clear instructions (particularly useful for keeping the dog and cat apart!), and Luke (the son) gave me good advice on gerbil care.
Baloo was great company, who kept me entertained with his stick antics; he never tired of playing his "try and get the stick off me" game :-). We had lovely, (very) long scenic walks along the coastal path. ... MORE
House sitting is a fun, immersive way to experience this magnificent country - without paying a cent for accommodation!
