We need a house sitter

South West - Dorset

Gemma

We live on the lovely Isle of Portland, the heart of the Jurassic coast. Just a stones throw away from the famous Chesil Beach.
We live in a cul-de-sac, walking distance to the start of Chesil beach and have amazing views which are some of the best on the island.

The house is detached. We have a large open plan kitchen/diner and living room and 3 bedrooms. Would suit a family/couple or a single person.

It's myself, my husband and two children (10&12) We have a friendly 4 year old Hungarian Vizsla called Penny. She has two walks a day, One in the morning (anytime that suits, she likes a lay in) and a good hour and a half in the afternoon (normally before the school run) She's great off the lead and loves to chase her ball. She's a much loved member of the family and is great with the kids. She's happy sprawled out in front of the log burner.

Portland is a great place to visit. There's so much to see and do, even in the winter. You will have a great time here

The takeaway from our house sit in Portland is that although you are not supposed to have favourites, Penny is the sweetest natured dog we have had the pleasure of looking after. She is an absolute delight to spend time with and is at her happiest when cuddled up next to you or chasing a ball across a wet field. She is very easy to handle and always trying to please. A lovely home with all the usual amenities on the Isle of Portland hillside with great views overlooking Chesil Beach. Gemma and Dave were good communicators and provided us with great little tips about local walks and places to go and see. Penny was an absolute joy to look after, loving, friendly and well trained, even though still very much a puppy, and can be trusted (98% of the time ) off lead as she kept an eye on where we were, coming back if we stopped or called her. A comfortable home on the hillside facing 16 mile Chesil Beach, with quite spectacular views - every day is a different scene and the sunsets are something else again. Gemma and Dave are in the middle of renovating and when it is finished they will have a very nice home in a great location. Nice people, friendly and outgoing, good communicators.
