Hi,
We live at Ardbeg on the Isle of Islay with a beautiful sea view.
We have a wee cat, Luna, who lives outside most of the time and just needs fed. We also have some quail which are very easy to care for (they have drinkers that need filled and pellet feeders to top up and sitters are welcome to any eggs) and two small pet goats called Rosemary and JJ (pygmy goat). We do also have doggies but plan to take them with us this time.
The house is technically 4 bedrooms but at the moment only 2 are furnished as bedrooms. One bathroom with bath and shower and open plan kitchen/dining/living room downstairs. We have a back garden with large decking area and we do have a wood fired hot tub but in the interest of full disclosure it's quite a lot of effort to heat it! We also have a fire pit which can be lovely on a cold clear night. Oil central heating, gas hobs and electric oven.
The house is at the end of a foot/cycle path connecting Ardbeg, Lagavulin and Laphroaig distilleries with Port Ellen. It's about 3.5 miles to port Ellen. The bus comes to Ardbeg several times a day. Port Ellen has a couple of shops and lovely restaurants.

This was a delightful house sit with well behaved characterful pets in beautiful surroundings. The instructions and routines were clear and easily managed with all of the varied pets fun to work with, .and a location perfect for getting out and about in the sunshine. Everything I needed was provided and it was easy to contact the homeowner if there were any questions.
I got lucky with my first pet/house sit with Jayne and her unique pets. It was a tonic for the soul, mind and body. The setting and view from the kitchen window can take your breath away. There is never a dull moment with the pets. Luna is gentle. The dogs need more attention and are very energetic. The goats are very special. The quail need feeding but are easy to care for. Wow 😯, what an experience, Jayne is amazing, The pets and animals are all beautiful and unique in their own way., which I love. 💖 So I looked after, Pip, Kizzy, Luna, Tigger, JJ, Rosemary and the Quails. OMG, I love them all and each of their characteristics that they each have. 🥰. Truly a pleasure to house sit for Jayne. She was easy going and very welcoming. The house was lovely and the views of the ocean are spectacular.
The pets are all gorgeous, affectionate and easy to care for. I am going to miss them all. It was so nice to watch Tigger the kitten come out of his shell. Would happily house sit for Jayne again.
Fantastic sit ! Jayne is welcoming and easy going and the dogs routine is quite relaxed. They are happy and well behaved doggos and the goats were also easy to care for and very entertaining ! My accommodation was delightful - quiet, clean and private and with amazing views. Highly recommended !
My husband and I loved our time on Islay, looking after Pip, Kizzy, Luna and the quails :) We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful host than Jayne, who gave us all the recommendations and information we could need to make the most of our time. The girls are delightful and friendly, and loved snuggles on the sofa as much as big muddy walks :) thank you so much Jayne for having us!
