We need a house sitter

South West - Devon

We are looking for a responsible and trustworthy couple who love cats and have lots of experience looking after them, to care for our two cats while we go away on holiday. (No smokers please)

We are looking for sitters to arrive the evening of Tuesday 13th May, and depart from 3pm onwards on Friday 30th May (we are due home late evening on the 30th so the later you're able to leave the better!).

Buffy and Angel will be 14 year olds by then - they are Norwegian Forest Cats (a very large, long haired breed). They are house cats, so they need to be kept safely indoors, fed at regular times, and litter trays kept clean.

Angel is deaf (from birth), which is why we keep them indoors, and she can be quite loud at times! She is also currently on medication for her thyroid so we add that to a little bit of food in the morning and evening.

We have an enclosed decked area out the back so we can let the cats get some air during the day. At night we keep them closed in the kitchen, so they won't disturb you.

Our home is on the outskirts of Exeter near the M5, which makes it easy to get out and about. Although there are some shops and transport links within a walkable distance, you will need to have your own car to get the most out of the area, and in case there is an emergency with the cats and they need to go to the vet.

If you are not familiar with Devon, there are several coastal towns to visit, like Exmouth, Sidmouth and Dawlish, as well as many countryside villages and the Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks.

We have a spacious but generally low maintenance three bedroom home. You will need to vacuum (long haired cats create LOTS of cat fluff!) and put the bins out for us. We have a small garden out the front (no maintenance needed) and a small decked area out the back. We have wi-fi, Netflix and Disney+.

Good pre-sit communications. Jenna & Graham were welcoming on our arrival and introduced us to their two adorable cats. They showed us around the house and supplied us with all the information required. Good location and we ventured out for a few hours every day. We made the most of the local 'park & ride' from the end of the road into Exeter several times. We explored Exmouth and it's beach and both sides of the Exe estuary. Great location near to Exeter. The two beautiful fluffy cats were easy to look after. Both were a little shy but gradually came close enough for a stroke. The house was very neat and accommodating. We would be happy to do this sit again in the future.

Jenna & Graham are a lovely couple & after a thorough hand-over we were treated to a scrumptious meal at the local pub. Jenna communicated well before the house-sit & thought of every detail in her housesitter's guide to enable us to have a relaxing & enjoyable stay. This was a lovely sit - great communication meant we were well prepared and comfortable. The home owners are lovely and made us feel completely at home, while the cats are gorgeous and a delight to hang out with. We're very much looking forward to seeing them all again soon

No rating Buffy and Angel very easy to look after, lovely cats, they have an easy to follow routine. Jenna left deatiled instructions with her requirements for their care, which was very helpful. House was in a good location for exploring, train station within walking distance, shops not too far away. Lots of walks in the area. We enjoyed our few days looking after these beautiful cats.
