Yorkshire and the Humber - South Yorkshire

Emily

Hi everyone, we are Emily and Dan, we're a couple in our mid-30s living in Sheffield. We're hoping to go on a couple of holidays this year and it'll unfortunately not be possible to take our dog, Pippin, so we're looking for someone who might be able to help us with looking after him!

Pip is a rescue from Montenegro and we found him whilst on a trip there when he was a tiny puppy. He had been dumped on the side of a mountain and was completely emaciated with a big pot belly full of worms, so we couldn't just leave him! Luckily, we managed to find a charity to help and, after a very long time and lots of vaccinations later, he was able to join us in the UK in January 2023. He is a wonderful boy, very, very sweet and eager to please, and he is a real snugglebug once he's warmed up to you (though this can sometimes take a couple of days!). He's great with other dogs and has a good few doggy pals in the local parks. He could be looked after with another friendly dog if you needed to bring one along.

We're ideally looking for someone who is experienced with dogs, particularly rescue dogs and dogs who have separation anxiety, as Pip unfortunately does suffer with it. He can be left for up to an hour at a time, but no more than this as he gets quite distressed. Please therefore only apply if you are able to work from home/will not be planning on leaving him for long periods. He is a fantastic pub dog and there are tons of dog-friendly pubs, bars, cafes etc. in Sheffield, so he normally will come with us when we go out.

We live in a 3-bedroom house in Crookes, which is in easy walking distance of loads of pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops, and parks. We are also a 10 minute drive to the Peak District, which is ideal for a nice, long dog walk! You will have full use of the house and please don't worry about anything extra like cleaning etc, we can do it when we get back. We have a small courtyard garden out the back with a nice seating area. It's a great place to be and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Look forward to hearing from you,
Emily & Dan
