We need a house sitter

South Western Scotland - City of Glasgow

Esther & Nic

We are looking for someone to hang out with and take care of our cat, Jasper, in exchange for staying at our house on the edge of Glasgow city centre. We'll be leaving around 10am so will need someone who can be here early or do introductions beforehand. On the 10th, we'll be back very late but would be happy for you to leave in the late afternoon/evening.

The house is spacious and comfy. It has three bedroom with one used as an office. One room has a king size bed and the other a double sofa bed. We've got small private garden and a large shared garden which is like a small park just for people living on our block. Our kitchen has everything you'd need and there's a large livingroom. We've got a driveway, if you need parking.

The area we're in is a quiet, safe residential area. There's a shop, cafe, pub, pharmacy etc within five mins walk. The city centre is only 10-15min walk away and there's easy public transport to other areas of Glasgow and further afield.

Jasper is a rescue and 4 or 5 years old. He has cataracts so has limited vision, he gets around just fine but it means he's a bit anxious. He's on medication which is a liquid on his wet food so easy to give and it means he doesn't get scared much. Jasper is good with people though, he has a normal level of cat initial reservation but then will want to hang out and sit on your lap. He just needs someone who will spend some time with him, feeding (including liquid meds) and his litter tray scooped.

We spent 4 nights looking after Jasper for Nic and Esther. They made us very welcome when we met the evening prior to the sit and provided detailed information. Communication with Nic was excellent. The house is modern, spacious and well equipped with a private and communal garden . Close to Glasgow centre and ideally situated for exploring a wider area. Jasper was a delight to look after , enjoying some play and affection on his terms. Thank you for having us to sit. Kathy and Gareth

KATHLEEN AND GARETH & GARETH (Aug 2024 - 4 nights)
Nic and Ester made us welcome when we arrived. They were good communicators and relaxed about leaving us with their very comfortable and spacious home. Jasper was so easy to look after and he was a friendly little fellow. The house is in a good area for exploring Glasgow on foot and we used the subway several times to get into the city centre. The co op shop is within easy walking distance too. Thank you Nic and Ester for trusting us to look after Jasper..

CHERYL & ANGUS (Mar 2024 - 1 week 1 night)
Jasper is absolute sweetness and an excellent companion. He follows around like a puppy and enjoys sitting with me while I read and eagerly participated in ‘nap time’ after I’d had a long walk exploring. He’s curious about what I might be eating, helped me with my crocheting, and made certain that I didn’t get lost anywhere in the house. An absolute sweetheart. Nic and Esther’s house is comfortable and easily located to city centre and interesting sights like the Southern Necropolis ... MORE

MARDELLE (Feb 2024 - 3 nights)
Had an amazing time looking after Jasper who was so cute and well behaved. The house is beautiful and has a central location with good connections. Good communication and clear instructions that helped as well.

ISABELLA (Nov 2023 - 1 week 3 nights)
This has been my first official sit via this site and in UK. Nic instructed me very well about Jasper's needs so I knew what to expect. Jasper made looking after him so easy. Being a rescue, he is a bit shy. As I stayed for a relatively short period, I did not expect him to build up a relationship with me; however, I was very touched when he came close to me on the second day already and seemed to enjoy (careful) cuddles. Jasper needs medication but he has no problems at all taking it. ... MORE
