Hi there!

We are looking for a very caring, friendly, animal loving person or couple, who are retired, or do not have work commitments, to look after our precious and very much loved golden retriever and our lovely cat in our home, whilst we are away on holiday in August 2025 for 15 nights.

Both of our pets are rescues. Our golden retriever came from Romania in January 2024. She was found starving in a forest, so she loves food and is literally like a hoover! - She will eat everything in sight!

She really is the most gentle, precious innocent little girl who is always smiling and wagging her tail - she is very much loved.

We would need our sitter to be on hand to give her lots of time, tummy tickles and attention while we are away. She also absolutely loves being brushed and will happily lay there for hours! She will require regular brushing 2-3 times each week (she will happily agree to more if you have the time!)

It will be the first time that we have left her since we rescued her, so she may be understandably worried and unsettled. She will require lots of love. time and reassurance.

She will require 1-2 walks daily roughly 1 hour per walk.

Hugo our cat came to us as a stray at around 6 months old. He is a lovely cat and loves a stroke. but he’s very independent and comes and goes as he pleases!

We need someone who will give both our fur babies lots of love and whilst we are away and who are able to provide us with photos and regular updates as I will be missing them very much!

Our sitter would need to be home with our furries (mainly our golden girl) for the majority of the time. If you go out our golden would like to come with you! She loves riding around on the back seat in the car!

We would like the sitter to be able to drive so they can take our girl on dog walks - there are some lovely local dog walks and the Yorkshire Dales is within an hours drive.

I am very worried about leaving my babies, as they are family. We need our sitter to be understanding of this. We would like our sitter to meet our babies and possibly sit for 1 night before we leave them for a longer period, so they are familiar with our furries and they are familiar with you too.

We are a family with children and live in a 4 bedroom detached home, in a semi rural location. We have a Bradford postcode, but live on the cusp of Leeds and Halifax too!

Experience with golden retrievers and rescue dogs would be ideal, but not essential. Someone who loves dogs is a must!
