We need a house sitter

Yorkshire and the Humber - West Yorkshire

Rebecca

We are based in the beautiful village of Addingham, 3 miles from Ilkley.
There are great bus routes to Ilkley, Skipton, Otley and into Leeds.
Lots of walks locally, some lovely pubs in the village and a local Coop 1/2 a mile down the road.
We have 2 working Labradors, a yellow one, who’s 15 months old and a black one who’s 4 years. Both girls.
The girls work during the shoot season and that requires some rules with ball games, and general manners, we do have some house rules (no dogs on sofas or upstairs)
My girls love to play hide and seek with tennis balls at the local playing fields. The yellow one, commonly referred to as the custard cream, loves a snuggle up on the floor. Waggy Aggie, the other dog, will enjoy a fuss and gets very excited about going out for a walk and loves water too.
Both girls will come to recall, we will, while away, prefer the yellow one to stay on lead or be put onto a longline or flexilead while out walking. She can get worried and so I feel more at ease her staying on lead.
She will bark and run away on meeting strangers or if strangers come to the house. She’s not remotely aggressive but a bit of a scaredy cat.
Girls can be left, inside house together or in our kennel area for periods. And can be left for upto 5 hours.
Dogs can be walked a couple if smaller walks, or one large one and be happy. The do like to rough and tumble occasionally. I don’t really allow this in living room, unless gentle, as that’s where they can chill out.
They sleep in the kitchen together.
We ask that dog poo is picked up off the lawn and we provide a bin and bags.
Wheelie bins will be put out by a neighbour (he’s very kind and friendly.)
Dogs fed twice daily, Millie’s Wolfheart, this will be measured out for you.
We request dogs not to be tied up outside shops etc we do not do this for risk of them being taken. These dogs are very precious to us.
We also request that they are not fussed over by strangers while out and about or given treats/ biscuits by anyone but yourself.
Dogs also not to play chase with balls/ toys and no tug of war etc. they will pick everything up that’s left around and will bring it to you, and deliver to hand. This is important to us! For their training! We don’t snatch anything off them, we take hold of the item they have in their mouths and say “dead” they should then release. The yellow one will find twigs, leaves etc and walk around with them. She will come in and give to you for a fuss. We make it rewarding for them.
House is clean, 3 bed semi, with garden. Great neighbours, drive for car (not wide enough for anything bigger than a transit van. Quiet street, my parents live opposite and my brother at the top of the village, incase of emergency.
Central heating, clicks on when house goes under 18 degrees from Sept 15th. This can be adjusted.
You can make yourself at home. I will provide clean bedding on the main bed the day we leave. Also leave towels out.
I will be leaving a hairdryer out for your use.
We have an electric shower over bath.
There is a log burner, this can only be used if we’ve had it swept (we are unsure if will be done in time for end of Sept but will try.)
There is a dishwasher in kitchen and washing machine and dryer (in garage, accessed only by electric key, this can be made available if you want.)
Tv with virgin box and apps (Netflix/ prime/ Disney)
Lots of books, a vast array of diff subjects and genre.
We have an electric oven, ninja airfryer and a toaster (this is for gluten free items only! As our daughter is coeliac.) Normal bread is to be toasted on grill in oven.

We welcome couples or parents with a child. The dogs are sensible child friendly. Though the yellow one may woof at first if taken by surprise. She loves a gentle stroke from kids and will happily lay her head in a lap for this for hours.

Any questions please ask us.
