Hexham England

We are looking for a house sitter to stay in our comfortable detached cottage in a quiet rural hamlet in southern Northumberland, a few miles from Hexham.

You would be caring for one sweet indoor-only cat. Carnacki is a healthy 5-year-old ragdoll who loves company and will be quite demanding for playtime! He has recently lost his companion cat, so needs some extra love and care. We would ask you not to be away from the property for longer than about 7 hours each day, so he doesn't get lonely.

There are no other pets, but we do also feed the birds every day and would like the you to keep up with that. There is a large, quite wild garden with lots of trees and shrubs for you to enjoy. Garden care is just watering a few pots on the patio if it's warm.

There are loads of books in the house, very reliable wi-fi, a smart TV, a log burner to supplement the central heating, a just-refurbished ensuite bathroom to the main bedroom, two studies for remote working, and lovely walks and bike rides from the doorstep.

You will definitely need to have your own car: it's three miles to the nearest shop in Allendale, which also has cafes and pubs. There is a bus service that goes to Allendale and then on to Hexham, but it's not very frequent: one bus every two hours. The lovely market town of Hexham is 25 minutes away with a big Tesco, Lidl, Waitrose, etc..

Someone who loves cats and wants to enjoy Carnacki's company and the peace of the property would be ideal.
