Our cottage is in a small village just west of Oxford city. We have one thriving pub, a community shop, a village hall and many other amenities. The community is amazing and there is always someone to offer help and advice. The village is quiet but with easy access to main roads for venturing out and about. Oxford city has a train station with fast journeys into London Paddington or Marylebone. The village has a bus service during the week which is very reliable but a car is really essential if you want to go further afield.
Our large cottage is set back off the road down a gravel lane with a largish garden and fields behind. We rent an allotment to the rear of the property. We think it was built in the 1800s and still retains its large fireplace and bread oven. We have a log burner which keeps the house cosy and warm. It’s very quiet. That said, we have all mod cons including super fast broadband. Our neighbours are wonderful.
We’d like someone to look after our elderly tabby cat whilst we are away. She is 16 years old and is very easy to look after. She needs feeding twice a day, her water topped up and a few treats. She has a cat flap so does her business outside. Most importantly, she needs warmth and human contact and there’s nothing she likes more than sitting on your lap by a roaring fire. Previously we’ve put her in a cattery with her brother Dennis, but since losing Dennis recently, we’re keen to keep her at home in familiar surroundings.
I’m afraid that we haven’t given much notice but were hoping there’s someone out there who might want to spend some time in this lovely part of the world and give us the peace of mind that Minnie is well cared for in her own home.
