We need a house sitter

West Wales & The Valleys - Conwy

Sue

Firstly, we aren't in West Wales & the Valleys, we are North Wales, on the coast, on the edge of Snowdonia national park, which is not an option to choose under 'region'. We are only a few seconds walk from the beach.

Looking for a dog lover to sit in my house for just over two weeks (nothing booked yet as finding someone to care for the dogs is way more important, so we can be flexible with our dates at this time) - I need someone kind who will love my 4 Tibetan Terriers - we have a 5 years old, a 'lockdown' pup, so she is a bit clingy with people she knows and somewhat wary of those she doesn't. She's very sweet. We also have one who is 12, she's a skinny one who likes to plod along and sniff everything in her own time. Then we have two 'new' additions, both 18 months old. They play together and keep each other amused a lot of the time. I really need someone who will commit to being in the house the majority of the time with the dogs (don't leave them for longer than a couple of hours) and so to make the deal a little more palatable I can offer some extra days for a couple, in the cottage that is situated in our garden, just before or after the sit: this will allow you and the dogs to get acquainted and also for you to explore the area before you become a full time doggy/house sitter! You should know that the dogs -sleep on the beds with us, or in the baskets in the bedroom, you need to be good with that as if you try to shut them out you won't get any sleep! Dora and Honey tend to sleep on the third floor with my daughter, and Cassie and Bambi sleep on my bed with me.

The house itself is an old Victorian one, lots of small rooms and a couple of weird corridors. We have a lovely garden that is secure (a dog flap in the door means that the dogs can come and go between the house and garden at will), there is comfortable garden furniture outside. The house itself has everything that you would need, lovely kitchen, ovens, big fridge freezer, comfy sofas (shared with dogs), flat screen TV / Sky / Netflix in the lounge, all that stuff. The main bedroom has a tiny little shower room/loo added just off it, and there's a toilet downstairs and then up on the third floor there's a bathroom with bath, and the utility area with the washing machine and dryer. Can send photos of course, just ask.

Up first flight of stairs, along a corridor, Bedroom 1 with double bed. Up another small flight, bedroom 2 with double bed, small shower/loo room, and main bedroom with superking bed. Up another flight and you will find the utility room and a bedroom with king bed. Kitchen and lounge are on the ground floor, along with our office and a small room with loo and sink.

My main need is for the dogs to be looked after properly, interacted with, talked to, singing to them is optional but preferred, and generally not to feel neglected whilst we aren't here.

They will need walking daily unless the weather is very bad. They're happy to chase a squeaky tennis ball on the beach, or to walk along the coastal path and around the salt flats. Did I mention that we live in a seaside village? The beach is less than a minute's walk from here.

So that you can have the opportunity to explore the area a little and to get used to the dogs, we can offer a couple of days beforehand in our little cottage that is situated in our garden (so long as it isn't already booked). Alternatively you are welcome to come and stay free in the cottage for a few days prior to the sit. Once the dates are confirmed I will block off the dates you want in the cottage (so long as those dates not already booked) for our potential dog sitters who will then come into the house for the sit. Also happy to offer a week's holiday for free in our cottage after the sit - it only sleeps two people though - if you wish. . We do ask that once we leave for our holiday that you commit to staying home with the dogs. They have never been left alone for longer than two hours. There is a teenager in the village that we sometimes employ to come and sit in with them if we have to be out longer. But please, just enjoy the garden, the village and the gentle doggy walks.

Of course we will leave all the dog food needed and all that stuff, and you are welcome to use the items in the cupboards, the spices, flour sugar, anything that's here, really. We will also leave info with the vet including a payment card just in case it's needed.

I had a wonderful time in Wales looking after Sue and Michelle's beautiful 3 Tibetan terriers. The house is in a fantastic location close to beach, village, lovely walks and train station.,the garden is beautiful for relaxing in and Sue and Michelle were very welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts. We were given lots of printed information covering everything we needed to know and the fridge and freezer was left full of food for us which was a welcome gesture. Cassie, Dora and Honey were a joy ... MORE
