Long term house sit in rural Northumberland - Dark Skies - National Park

Stay in one of our comfy Holiday Cottages, exciting opportunity for a couple. This long term sit is flexible on dates with potential for up to a year sit. Potential to earn a income from cleaning the holiday cottage next door.

Looking after our Chickens, Ducks and Geese

We have a farm, with a seperate holiday cottage in Northumberland, 30 miles from Newcastle and 27 Miles from Hexham. Nearly 12 acres of land, river access, in Northumberland just opposite the national park and Dark Skies.

Looking for a house sitter/pet sitter, living in one of our fully furnished holiday cottages and looking after our chickens, ducks and geese, approx 30 in total. Feeding, letting out in the morning and putting away at night, cleaning once a week.

Samantha was so kind, friendly and welcoming and she provided us with everything we needed for our stay. The cottage was clean, stylish and comfortable with stunning views of the Northumberland countryside in the day, and epic skies at night due to being in a Dark Skies Area (it gets really dark). The geese (8), ducks (14), and chickens were little characters, especially Luba, Joffrey and Jemima, and my daughter was delighted by them every day. This was one of our favourite sits to date. Sam & Taz made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived, showing us the ropes and introducing us to their awesome animals. All the birds had different characters, and it was such a pleasure getting to know all the chickens, geese and ducks during our time there. Sam and Taz were great. They gave me an excellent handover and plenty of support. Their farmhouse is absolutely gorgeous, the cottage where I stayed beautiful and the surrounding area just stunning. Looking after the ducks, chickens and geese while they were away was a real pleasure and I learned a lot too! All in all, it was a fantastic experience and I can't recommend them highly enough. Thanks!
