Poppy is a 5 year old Golden Retriever, with a loving and playful nature. She loves her walks on Berry Head nature reserve, coastal path and local beaches. Brixham is a picturesque fishing town and popular tourist destination in South Devon, with easy access to a stunning coast, Dart River, Dartmoor and country estates like Dartington and Greenway (Agatha Christie). We are located 5 minutes walk to Berry Head and 10 minutes to the harbour and Brixham shopping area. Our home is in a court setting and has wonderful views of the sea, and across Torbay to Torquay - 30 minutes drive or take the ferry. There is parking allocated for our house.
John's and Carol's home was warm and wekcoming with the most amazing view from their lounge. it was a short walk into the centre of town with nearby coastal walks. Poppy was a pleasure to look after. Well trained and very affectionate.. I was sorry I could not stay longer due to personal committments
Poppy & I enjoyed up to 5 walks a day around the peninsula on which Brixham stands. This wasn't always easy in the wind and rain that dominated November & into December, but the porch helped greatly.
Her energy was only superceded by her delight in eating everything from fecal matter to grass clippings. Sometimes she liked to roll in it too, but there's many a pooch likes to do that. She was excellent both on and off the lead, responding well to instructions and expectations alike.

A big thank you to John and Carol for a lovely housesit with their very friendly and loving woofer Poppy. I was made to feel very welcome and all the communication beforehand made the handover very straightforward. The house was super clean and is in a peaceful neighbourhood with fantastic views of the sea and everything that Brixham has to offer from the doorstep. There are fabulous walks minutes from the house for Poppy including a paddock where she can run around and play Frisby! Berry Head ... MORE
John & Carol were kind and helpful hosts & their dog Poppy was very affectionate & fun to be around. There are lovely views from their comfortable lounge & wonderful walks from the door. Having Berry Head a few minutes away, made for great dog walks - a real bonus.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Carol & John's house looking after their 18 month old Golden Retriever Poppy. There are lovely views across Torbay from the house and some really good walks to take Poppy on all close by. Brixham harbour is also but a short walk away. Poppy was generally well behaved for her age, good to be with and made our house sitting stay all the more enjoyable. Poppy was a delight to look after......so loving and affectionate. Lots of lovely walks on the doorstep to enjoy and Poppy generally well behaved for such a young dog.
Carol and John gave us a warm welcome to their lovely home which was well appointed and comfortable. The spectacular views were an added bonus.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this house sit and hope that our paths cross again in the future.
It was a pleasure to look after the dogs. They were very well behaved and lovable. Clear instructions were left as far as meds and food, nearby walks, vet etc.
