Lancaster England

We are Gavin and Guy, an Anglo-French couple together for 24 years and married for 11. Guy is 74 and Gavin is 60. We would prefer a single man (French speakers esp welcomed*)

We have a large, detached house in the peaceful village of Hest Bank, dating from 1924, which was extended and completely updated in 2020/2021. It features a wrap-around garden and a large, modern open-plan SieMatic kitchen and living area facing south, with floor-to-ceiling windows and doors leading to the terrace, patio, garden, and greenhouse. There are electric gates onto the drive. Bus connections to Lancaster, Morecambe, Carnforth, and Windermere are available several times per hour. The city is 10minutes away with theatres, cultural events and sporting facilities all at hand. We are just by from the Lancaster Canal, and a 5-min walk to the sea of Morecambe Bay. The Lake District is 40 Minutes to drive and accessible by train.

We have two elderly terriers: Ben, a Border cross, inherited from my uncle and aunt who rescued him as a pup scavenging in Scotland, but who died of COVID-19 a week apart. His age is ca. 17-18; and Dave, a 15-year-old Cairn terrier, rescued from France by a neighbor and friend, whom we adopted when our friend found love and moved abroad. Ben

If you enjoy gardening, please feel free to do whatever you like. We occasionally have a gardener to assist us, as we have not always been able to maintain it ourselves. Garden work is not required in the winter months but help with mowing lawns from spring through autumn would be welcomed.
