Mike and Brigit have a lovely home and Finn is a joy to look after. This was my first sit, and a great introduction to it.

Brigit
Our nice detached house (and garden) comes with our resident lurcher dog Finn, an 8 year old rescue, He is friendly and loves people but because he doesn't get on with other dogs (or anything furry or feathered) he does not have walks and is only allowed out in the garden or in a private field, which he needs taking to in a covered crate in a car at least 3 times a week (a 6 minute drive away) or once over a weekend. Apart from that he just needs lots of playtime in the garden. We try not to leave him alone longer than 3 hours during the day, though he is always more relaxed in the evening when he can be left longer. There is off-road parking in front of the house.
Our days are fixed but exact times we need a sitter to arrive is still approximate - roughly Friday midday to Monday afternoon. We prefer that the sitter stay until we return or at least are nearly home.
Frome is a wonderfully friendly, eco-minded and creative town, has a thriving arts community, 2 theatres, a cinema, leisure centre, and offers a host of activities. There is a corner shop 10 mins away, and it is a 15 min walk to the centre of town shops.
Mike and Brigit have a lovely home and Finn is a joy to look after. This was my first sit, and a great introduction to it.
Finn was a pleasure to look after in Brigit and Mike's comfortable house on a quiet estate in the lovely town on Frome.
He does need to be taken to a secure field for his exercise but was not trouble in the van or when he got there.
Finn is a lovely dog to sit, he is affectionate and loving and we really enjoyed his company. He was also well behaved.
We met Brigit and Mike before the sit so they explained Finn's routine and showed us around the house. They also left detailed written instructions which is always helpful.
We also enjoyed some lovely around Frome so it was a good sit overall!
We had a great time looking after Finn of Frome. While Finn is a rescue and has restrictions on interactions with animals and maximum alone time, we knew this in advance and it was no problem for us (in fact easier with the booked in walks in a nearby private field for Finn!). Brigit and Mike are very friendly and helpful hosts. Their house is homely and comfortable in a quiet neighbourhood and instructions and communication very clear and easy. Good memories of Frome!
We had a most enjoyable time at Brigit's. Although were there for two months we had no major dramas. Mike and Brigit were most hospitable. Everything that we needed was there. We enjoyed the raspberries, gooseberries and rhubarb from the garden and the dog Flynn was very friendly. We were able to communicate with Brigit whilst they were in America without any problems.
We loved looking after Finn, he was such a calm and lovely dog. Thank you for instructions all very clear and helpful. We enjoyed our stay
We had a great experience housesitting for Brigit and Mike in the interesting town of Frome and taking care of their lovely Lurcher, Finn. Brigit and Mike were very welcoming and provided clear instructions, making us feel right at home. We enjoyed a really lovely stay at Brigit's home with Finn the dog. He was so very sweet. Our kids absolutely loved playing with him and miss him greatly already. Added to that, there was a children's playground literally only 20 seconds away, which we made full use of every day. Thank you again for such a memorable time!
We had a wonderful time at Brigit and Mike's home. They are both lovely and made us feel very welcome. And Finn...what can I say? He is such a lovely boy. We really enjoyed looking after him and would very happily do so again.
Care for someone else's pets, go for walks in a brand new place... Surprise yourself and expand your horizons.
