We are both academic geographers who work in the Northeast (Newcastle and Durham) and we live on Summerhill Square, the last remaining Georgian Square in Newcastle. Our beautiful, 200-year-old house is very close to the city centre, but is quiet and extremely comfortable. Fonzy, our dog, is a loving, playful and sweet Dachshund-Jack Russell and we're looking for someone to be with him while we're on research. Get in touch if you're interested.
This was a lovely pet-sit. Noam and Jen are very kind people, and they left me great notes, which were very helpful. Fonzy is absolutely adorable and so easy, with a great sense of fun! In addition, the house is a 10-minute walk to the centre of Newcastle and yet very quiet and peaceful, with doggy play areas right on the doorstep. Fonzy and I had a lovely, happy time together and I will miss him. Thank you!
Fonzy what a character, he can walk all day or he can snuggle up with you all day especially if the weather is bad,(Storm Darragh was with us during this sit),and he will definitely give you the choice of toys to play with, walks from the front door, Newcastle Quayside worth a visit as well as the beach 20 mins approx by car.
House is comfortable, although central, due to the mature gardens very peaceful and full of wild birds including Parakeets.

Fonzy is a great dog and we thoroughly enjoyed our time sitting him and the house. He is happy to trot out on a long walk either city or beach and play chasing a ball or toy tug. As well as this he enjoys cuddles and lap time. Communication with Noam and Jen was great with a good handover. We would happily sit for Fonzy again.
This pet sit was very special since my son bonded with Fonzy so much. Additionally, Jen and Noam were always responsive in communication and helped us feel very welcome. Their neighbours were all very friendly, too, and willing to help out with anything. If I popped out to the shops, Fonzy would jump up on me and lick my face once I got back indoors -- he shows you how much he misses you after being gone for just 20 minutes!
