We need a house sitter

East of England - Bedfordshire

Erica

Hi, we are Erica and Jordan, we live in Bedfordshire with our 3 Children. (6, 3 and 1).

We are looking to go away over the Easter holidays from 3rd April returning on the 19th of April. That said if you couldn't accomodate the first/ last few days we could ask a neighbour or friend to help to make it achievable.

Our house is in a rural location with lots of space, a garden and countryside walks.
We spend the majority of our time in the kitchen dining room space where there is a large sofa and space to watch TV.
Our living room we use for movie nights and entertaining. If the weather is chilly there is a wood burning stove which makes the whole house toasty warm.

The garden is plenty for our needs and the needs of our pets, they are happy to exercise themselves in the garden.

We have three dogs, their living space is within our hallway which means the house is able to be kept fairly clean from general dog mess (hair etc).
They like to be let out to run around in the garden, where they are happy to burn off their energy playing together.
Equally, they wouldn't complain about being taken out on their leads for a walk, but if you are unable to walk them they are very happy with the time in the garden.
We would hope that who ever looks after them would pick up after them once a day or two to keep on top of it. They are fed twice a day morning and evening.

We also have 7 chickens, they are fairly self sufficient, in regards to food and water as we have large containers but we would just need it kept an eye on to ensure they don't run out. If they are particularly messy with their food we sweep the small amount up of an evening to prevent rodents, but the job isn't too cumbersome. They are good at supplying eggs for your eating and baking needs.

Our last residents are two tortoises, who are likely to be out of hibernation. Again they are very low maintenance, and require feeding once a day and their water keeping topped up.

The location of our house is not too far from Bedford just outside a village called Marston Moretaine, there are good walking routes and fantastic scenery on the walks. We are down a fairly quiet country road which is only one way in/out so other than dog walkers or those visiting the local businesses down the road it is fairly private.

There is a co-op in the village about 5 mins by car. Or Tesco/ Aldi /Costco 15 mins by car.

You will need a car to stay in our property.
If you have a motor home to park there would be space on the drive.
