We live close to Belhaven Beach and the John Muir Way (lovely walks). It is a 3 bedroom bungalow that is partially divided into a 1 bed separate self contained linked granny flat (has lodger in it) and a separate 2 bed unit in which the house sitter would stay with our 3.5 year old jack russel.

She is sociable but also can be jealous and territorial as with most JR. She is a lovely dog. Very attached, so will find our departure difficult, especially as she has never been left overnight before. Our holiday dates are not finalised yet so remain a bit flexible for the right dog sitter/s. I wanted to see who may be available first and if it could be possible to come for a night (stay in spare bedroom) before we leave so that our dog felt a deeper connection with our chosen house sitter before we left.

I am 59, love gardening and the outdoors and have a 22 year old son who lives with me and with whom I will be going away. We are a quiet household (although Bongle can bark sometimes) and live in a peaceful area so we would like to find someone, preferably with experience of Jack Russells or other terriers, who would both enjoy and respect this.

Our available accommodation is separate to the annex but linked and so there will be no other residents in the accommodation provided.

I do however manage the annex as a serviced apartment for a long term contractor with weekly cleaning and if interested I could reimburse the house and dog sitter for cleaning services (approx 1.5 hours / week) at an agreed going rate. This would be a separate arrangement as there is no shared access and no need to be involved in this aspect. I am simply looking for a caring house sitter who is compatible with my dog.
