We need a house sitter

South East - Kent

Beverly

We require somebody to care for our 14 year old Cocker Spaniel Esme for 9 days whist we are away in Portugal. She is a rescue dog and is quite shy and timid but she soon makes a friend of you and loves lots of fuss. She is well behaved and loveable but does not like to be left alone for more than a couple of hours and needs to be taken out about every 3-4 hours for a toilet break. She also is an early riser - around 6 am and needs to be taken out then. She does not do long walks any more. Short strolls along the seafront are her limit. Our 4th floor apartment is right on the seafront in Dover and facing the English Channel. There is a lift to the Third floor then 14 steps up to our apartment. On a clear day you can see the shores of France in the distance. A few minutes walk and you can be in the town centre.and shops restaurants close by. The ferry terminal is close by (5 minutes walk if you want to do a day trip to France. ) My daughter would pop in during the day to see to Esme if you wanted to do that. You would have a lovely double room with double bed. The only parking is on-street parking right across the road from the house but we would brief you on where to park during the day and it is quite safe. There is wifi throughout the house and TV/DVD players etc. There is central heating and the house is clean and tidy. There are a few indoor plants but no garden. We really want somebody who will make Esme the focus of their stay. We actually leave the house on the 26th but prefer somebody to be a day or so earlier to find their way around and to bond with Esme. Be back on the 3rd but later in the evening. We usually leave food in the freezer and you are welcome to use anything you like. If you want to stay a few days either before or after to explore the area you are more than welcome.

I absolutely loved looking after Esme she's such a gentle soul who lapped up the attention I gave her, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her and in the local area of Dover and the beautiful Kent countryside, Bev and Michael made me feel very welcome and valued. I hope I can return to be with Esme again soon ☺️

It was lovely meeting Bev and her husband Michael, and looking after their beautiful cocker spaniel, Esme. Esme is a gentle soul - well-mannered, easy to walk, and easy to care for too. She's a rescue with a history of abuse and usually needs a bit of winning over, but I found it an easy process. The house is comfortable and close to the centre of Dover. Great base for exploring. Bev and Michael are excellent hosts. They also run a BnB from their home and the quality shows. Overall, ... MORE

No rating Beverly & Michael's care of us was obviously a reflection of their hospitality care: they have a B&B business. Our relationship has developed into a delightful friendship. Esme, the cocker spaniel, was very settled inside & outside the home, a pleasure to care for.
