Corfe Castle England

We are looking for someone to look after our two dogs, in our lovely old house in the centre of Corfe Castle village, for 2 weeks just before Easter 2025.

The dogs are both very friendly: an old(ish!) lurcher called Spike (he's quite big but is a real gent) and a 1-year old whippet called Winnie.

They’re used to getting a couple of 20-30 minute daily walks, but they’re happier going further and there’s some fab walks in almost every direction direct from the house. They will both enjoy a run around off the lead where it’s safe to do so, but are happy on the lead too and and (as long as there are biscuits) their recall is pretty good.

We also have 2 low maintenance cats and 3 chickens in the garden - they will all take as much company as you're happy to provide, but are equally content as long as there are topped-up supplies of food and water...

The house is a very old, stone-built, 3 bedroomed thatch cottage in a picture-postcard street, just a few minutes walk from Corfe Castle and the village square. The house has 2 decent woodburners and a secluded, secure back garden (with parking) where the chickens are allowed to roam around during the day.

It’s a fairly rural (quiet!) community but Corfe is a cracking village with lots of beautiful scenery on the doorstep.

Besides its own steam railway station and several good pubs, Corfe has a well-stocked local shop, a bakery and a few nice options for coffee including the National Trust tearooms. Wareham and Swanage (nearest towns) both have supermarkets, although we frequently use a home delivery service (mainly because we have a busy work life and young family!)….

We’d be very happy for the sitter to visit sometime beforehand to meet the dogs, see the house and check out the local area.
