We need a house sitter

Yorkshire and the Humber - West Yorkshire

Ann

We are looking for a housesitter to take care of Pushkin our 6 year old cat and Alfie, our Schnoodle puppy who will be about 9 months old at the time of the sit.
Pushkin is a very affectionate cat and enjoys company. She has a cat door so can come and go as she wants.
Alfie at this stage is a very lively puppy who enjoys contact with both people and other dogs. He is quick to learn and beginning to respond reliably to commands. We are going to weekly puppy classes at the moment. He enjoys 2 to 3 walks a day and has the run of our back garden. He is begimnning to understand recall but it will be some time before he can be left off-lead.. Before the sit we would give an update of how he is doing.
Both Pushkin and Alfie are in good health with up to date vacinations.
As well as looking after Pushkin and Alfie we would appreciate help with a limited number of tasks in the garden, greenhouse and nearby allotment. No heavy work would be involved.
We live in the lovely village of Burley in Wharfedale situated between an old spa town ,Ilkley, and the market town of Otley.
There are numerous country footpaths going off in all directions from the village including to the well known Ilkley Moor. Beyond Ilkley it is a short drive to the Yorkshire Dales National Park..
Public transport links are good-the train station is less than 5 minutes walk from the house with easy access to Leeds (18 minutes), Bradford (25 minutes) and York (an hour). Buses go to Ilkley and Otley and furthere afield to Harrogate.
In the village itself there are several small shops, pubs and restaurants as well as various community activities.
There are supermarkets in Ilkley, Otley and Guiseley

1 / 1 We stayed at Ann and David’s lovely home for two weeks in April and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Pushkin the cat was adorable, so friendly and a pleasure to be with. Their home was near Ilkley Moor so there was some fabulous walking nearby and much more within a short drive. The local towns are definitely worth visiting with good shopping, tourist attractions and facilities. Ann and David made us very welcome and made sure we knew all we needed to look after the house and ... MORE

JEAN (Mar 2023 - 1 week 6 days)
Organisisng this sit with Ann was easy and communication was great despite a few IT issues at my end. Pushkin is just the most charming and amusing cat. The house is great and the location is ideal if you want to explore Yorkshire. Burley in Whaefedale is a charming with 3 cafes 3 pubs and a supermarket. 2 miles from Otley and 4 miles from Ilkleygreat towns with plenty of everything you might need. An absolutely ideal location if you want to tour the Yorkshire Dales or alternatively take a ... MORE

JOHN (Apr 2024 - 1 week 5 nights)
Just returned for a 10 day trip to Burley in Wharfedale. In the Yorkshire Dales, caring for Pushkin, who was a delightful young lady. She warmed to us quickly, as she likes a companion while she enjoys grazing! The property was spacious with a lovely garden for relaxing. We watered the allotment and kept an eye on the greenhouse plants. This is a beautiful village with lots of local walks. Many places of interest to visit. We enjoyed Ilkley Moor, Otley, Skipton and Bolton Abbey. The weather ... MORE

LORRAINE (May 2023 - 1 week 4 days)
We really enjoyed minding Ann & David's very comfortable house in a pretty Yorkshire village. There are lots of interesting walks in the area & David has numerous maps & guidebooks you can borrow. Pushkin, their cat was super friendly & easy to care for; the garden was lovely & watering the plants & checking the allotment were easy tasks. Ann provided us with lots of useful information (written & verbal) & was easy to contact with any queries. We'd be very happy to house sit for them again.
