West Wales & The Valleys - Merthyr Tydfil
josie
I am looking for someone to keep my boy, Molo, company while we are away.
The house is a cosy cottage in Merthyr Tydfil with a lovely garden. It is very well located for those wishing to visit the Brecon Beacons, Bike Park Wales, Waterfall Country of Neath, and Merthyr Tydfil itself which has a rich heritage history.
The area:
The house is extremely well located and sits in a friendly, quiet, safe, small street.
Nearby Attractions:
- Immediately from the house there is wonderful forestry for walking.
- Brecon Beacons National Park: is just a 7 minute drive away. Within 10-15 minutes there are a number of stunning lakes and mountain walks. The Hilltop picture uploaded is the view from a walk 10 minutes drive away,
- Bike Park Wales: is two miles away for those who enjoy biking.
- Waterfall Country: is a 25 minute drive away, where you can visit many beautiful waterfalls.
- Merthyr Tydfil itself: is a few minutes away. Merthyr has a rich heritage history. In the town centre you can visit Cyfartha castle with its gallery, museum and gardens. Around the town are many trails and sites to visit relating to Merthyr’s industrial past.
- The Taff Trail which runs from Cardiff to the Brecon Beacons along the river Taff can also be reached within a 10 minutes walk or short cycle.
- Abergavenny, Cardiff, Brecon Town and the Big Pit Museum in Blaenavon are 30-40 minutes away.
Amenities:
- There is a retail park with many shops and gym a 5 minute walk away. There a number of larger supermarkets within the town centre.
- In town you can find a number of restaurants and shops.
The House:
The house is a one-bedroom cottage with a lovely, private garden and space for parking 2 cars. Downstairs is the bathroom, kitchen, living room and sewing studio. Upstairs is the bedroom and an adjoining office which also has a treadmill. You are more than welcome to use all of these during your stay.
The house is cosy, private and quiet. It is also old and ‘cottagy’, anyone wishing to visit should be aware that the stairs are very steep, narrow and crooked and unlikely to be suitable for young children or anyone with limited mobility. The house will be fully cleaned prior to your arrival, but please bear in mind it is an old cottage rather than a polished-new build😊
The dog:
Molo is a 9 year old mixed-breed, medium sized dog. He would enjoy a walk each day, but once a week he has a dog walker who takes him. Outside of this walk, he is an incredibly lazy potato and will sleep the majority of the remainder of the day, besides waking up for his dinner.
During the summer, in good weather (and quite often even in bad weather!) he generally lies outside from the moment you wake up until you call him in when it’s time to go to bed. In really bad weather, he will sleep the day away inside. He is very easy to have around at home. Equally, if you are a keen walker he would be thrilled to join you on any adventures.
He has his own bed, and his own chaise lounge. He will join you on the sofa or in the bed only if you invite him to.
I will be adding more pictures of the house in the coming days.
any questions feel free to ask! :)
