We need a house sitter

Greater London

Val

Hello and welcome to our home in Bermondsey, London.

We need a house sitter to look after our family home and our beagle dog, Bailey for a few days over New Year. If you'd like to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the capital, this is your chance!

We live in a 5 bedroom house on a quiet suburban street, which is minutes away from local shops and amenities and either a walk, bus or tube journey from central London.

Please be aware that we will still be at home for the first night of the sit so that we can hand over to you and then we can get off very early on the morning of the 30th and we get back on 2nd January. Please note that we are a family with small children including a special needs child so we are not a calm house. But as soon as we leave, calmness descends (with the exception of Bailey).

There isn't much that needs doing around the house, clear up after Bailey, put the bins out on Thursday night, water the plants to keep them alive, put the post in a safe place and make sure that the house is clean and tidy for when we get home, etc.

Bailey requires 3-4 walks a day (one first thing, one early afternoon, one early evening, one last thing at night - this one only needs to be a short walk so he can have a wee and make it through the night) They can be local walks of about 20 minutes each, although you are welcome to give him more. He needs to be fed once a day and his water bowl refreshed. If he makes a mess it needs to be cleared up. He's a sociable dog and would occasionally like to be around you while you're relaxing. But Bailey is never allowed in the bedrooms and is happy sleeping during the day.

He’s a typical Beagle: he’s either asleep or away and full of energy. The main things you need to know about him is that he can’t be trusted around food and will try and run away if he ever spies the gate left open (it’s got a bolt on it for that reason!)

We hope that you enjoy looking at our home and look forward to hearing from you.

Val and Alan.

I had a great time house sitting for Val and Allen! They’re a great couple with a lively young family. Val is hospitable, efficient, and easy to communicate with. When I arrived I was given a detailed tour of both the house and neighborhood to ensure I would have a comfortable time during the week. Bailey is an energetic and curious dog! He’s fairly easy to care for but if food is involved, he becomes very intensely focused on getting it. Sometimes this means knocking over bins or opening the ... MORE

I have nothing but great things to say about Val and Alan - they were very welcoming and made me feel at home from the moment I stepped into their house! Also, they left very clear instructions accompanied by videos on how to use house appliances and where to find house products. I really enjoyed looking after Bailey, he's a very playful dog who loves food and cuddles. It was an amazing sit overall; I was able to spend quality time with my family in London whilst house sitting and spending ... MORE
