We need a house sitter

South West - Gloucestershire

Helen

A comfortable house in the Cotswold countryside, being 30 miles north of Oxford, 15 miles south of Stratford upon Avon, and 3 miles from the railway station at Moreton In Marsh. I have two 17hh horses that require feeding twice a day with medication added. EXPERIENCE OF HANDLING HORSES IS ESSENTIAL. I also have one Bengal cat. He is not a lap-cat, will not want to know you, but will expect food to be there all the time and for his litter tray to be kept clean. A cat-lover is required.

A CAR IS NECESSARY to get to the closest shops, 3 or 4 miles away. Wi fi is available. House alarm to be used when out.

Kathy couldn't make this one however I had a fantastic time house-sitting for Helen in Todenham, Moreton-in-Marsh. The house is easy to care for, well-equipped, and ideally located within a 10 min drive to shops, pubs, and cafes and also great walks nearby. I looked after her two gentle horses, Bertie and Arthur, who were a joy to care for and especially love a few carrots at meal times! Such a pleasure to stay at Helen’s house in the Cotswolds - and to care for her two retired/semi-retired hunters, and somewhat eccentric Bengal cat, Gizmo! The house was comfortable, spacious and warm, and Helen was most welcoming – and thoughtful in terms of providing clear, typed instructions as to care of the horses, Gizmo – and assorted visiting chickens. My house sitting experience at Helen's lovely house was a most enjoyable experience. I slept so well as the bed was so comfy. The house is beautifully furnished, is in a delightful village surrounded by glorious countryside. My duties were to look after Helen's two horses and very vocal Bengal Cat. They were all characters and a pleasure to look.after. I am certainly looking forward to my return visit later this year.

Helen's lovely, comfortable home was situated in a beautiful part of the peaceful Cotswold countryside and because we enjoy walking, nature and wildlife, it was a perfect house sit for us both. Having once had a horse ourselves, we really enjoyed having the opportunity to look after Helen's retired hunter who was a real gentle giant, plus gorgeous Gizmo (Helen's cat) who was a real character and great company.
