We need a house sitter

East Midlands - Nottinghamshire

Caroline

We are looking for an experienced and conscientious house sitter to care for our 6 house cats while I take a break. Ozzie, Audrey, Bob, Albert, Emmett and Earl are certainly a lovely bunch of pets. Albert is deaf. There is an emphasis on making sure our cats stay in the house for safety reasons.

They are relatively low maintenance, and do not go out so other than a little playtime, brushing and feeding (and toilet duties) your time is your own.

We have a 4 bed townhouse so there's a guest bedroom and bathroom for you to use.

We're located within walking distance to Retford Town centre where there are some great shops and cafes. The train station is within walking distance too. We're a short drive from Sherwood forest, Thoresby Hall and Rufford Abbey which are all great places to visit.

Happy to accommodate a day or so before and after if needs be to fit between sits.

I am leaving in the afternoon on 20th December. I will arrive back at around teatime on Sunday 5th January so happy to accommodate that night if needed, or if you need to get on your way that's fine. I have not yet booked flights as its rather last minute and i wanted to secure a sitter first, but dates will be firmed up as soon as a sitter is confirmed.

What a wonderful house sitting! Caroline is a very intelligent and really friendly person. I felt already welcomed when we had our first phone call. The house is lovely, super clean and well-organized with a lot of space for her precious babies. They have all their own character, and you'll fell in love in an instant. This house sit is a cat lovers dream, the cats are so beautiful, friendly and charming. I absolutely loved this house sit, definitely my favourite and I have done a lot of house sitting. Caroline was so lovely, kind friendly generous helpful and accommodating to me in my bumbling around the UK (from NZ) You could not get a better host and when i come back to the UK i will time it for when Caroline needs a sitter. Caroline was lovely - she made me lunch. The 6 cats were cool - all with distinct personalities. House was comfortable and clean - with everything you need. Retford has its charm - connected by train for day trips out. And a nice neighbour whom I met when one of the cats scared me by hiding for half the day and not coming out for dinner! Caroline is a very warm, friendly and accommodating person. She made me feel very welcome and was so easy to communicate with throughout. Her house is really lovely, with everything you’d need, and the town of Retford is also pretty charming - lovely canal walks, parks, nature reserves, and friendly locals. I spent such a lovely a week with Caroline's 6 gorgeous cats. They all have really lovely - and very individual - personalities: friendly, cuddly, playful and occasionally a little bit mischievous! Caroline was super friendly and made me feel really comfortable and at home. She was also great at communicating both before and during my stay. Retford's a cute little town with some lovely walks nearby and great rail links if you want a day trip out. Highly recommended cat sit!

Caroline was super accommodating, generous, and warm-hearted. I arrived a little early and it was a real pleasure getting to know her. 8 cats may sound a little daunting to some, but I really enjoyed getting to know all of these little ones and their personalities. If you love cats this is definitely the house-sit for you!! They are house cats so all 4 were no trouble and I wasn't worried about losing any of them, although they did scare me by disappearing, one of them for a whole day. I never did work out where the hiding place was, but happily the cat/s reappeared! The accommodation was very comfortable and Caroline kindly made lunch on the first day. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Caroline and Danny's. A pleasant welcoming and friendly couple and it was such a wonderful experience to be with four such stunningly beautiful and affectionate cats. A marvellous experience.
