We need a house sitter

Housesitter required for our Siberian cat Elvis who is 3 years old and our four chickens and two ducks. Elvis has a lovely personality, he is very gentle and sweet and will cuddle up to you whenever you let him/sit down. He will need feeding twice a day and a bit of playtime/interaction. He likes company and will be a friendly companion for you during your stay. We also have four chickens and two ducks who are very easy to look after - twice daily feed and they need to be let them out in the garden and then locked back in for the evening. They tend to put themselves to bed so this is pretty simple.
Our house is in the quintessential English village of Cheriton in Hampshire - it is detached and has a secluded garden that backs onto fields for lovely country walks. I have a driveway if you have a car, or there is a bus stop to Winchester and Petersfield a two-minute walk away. Both are lovely places to visit. We have a village shop and larger shops and supermarkets in Alresford or Winchester. Our village pub The Flowerpots is also worth a visit.
The spare bedroom opens out into the garden and our table and chairs surrounded by grapevines and flowers - it is a nice spot for a morning coffee with a happy cat by your side!
I would prefer a single person/couple without children as Elvis is happier when there are not kids running around.

Samantha and Ollie are the most charming elegant couple , lovely home, lovely pets, lovely area. Full instructions in a useful booklet which we referred to for first days , plus they walked us through the routines and locations which was invaluable. As for Elvis ! The most gentle and beautiful cat, we ve never met one like him, no claws on us ever and communicative. Superb ! Love the ducks , they make you laugh ! Elvis is a gentle soul, doesn't like a lap sit, but cuddled up next to me when I sat down. It took a few days for us to get into our routine but I figured out when he liked to eat his wet food and we were both happy. The 4 chickens are a funny bunch, I put down their food in the afternoon but they still followed me around the garden. It was a pleasure to look after Sam and Ollie's home and pets. They have a very comfortable home in the small village of Cheriton, which is about 20 minutes from Winchester. I'd highly recommend it to other housesitters. I looked after Elvis the cat, two ducks, and four hens. They are all pretty low maintenance. Elvis comes and goes. Two of the hens are highly domesticated and very friendly. They'd sit on the lounge and watch TV with you if you let them. It was a great sit and a nice spot ... MORE

Such a fabulous home . Made to feel very welcome indeed . Great communication and instruction folder . Ducks and chickens very amusing .....But Elvis was the star of the show . The most delightful, cuddly kitty I've met .....shush don't tell my cat !

I have just returned from looking after Elvis for Sam. Elvis was such fun to spend time with and the lovely house and setting could not have been better. Sam's communication was fantastic and a welcome pack with info about Elvis and details about how everything worked in the house were invaluable. All in all, a fantastic first house sitting experience.
