Eastern Scotland - Fife
Ainslie
We are looking for a lovely person or couple to house and dog sit for us for just over a week in December/January
We live in an old stone built farmhouse out in the Fife countryside which feels like miles from anywhere but is only a 10 minute drive to an M&S food store and an excellent choice of supermarkets. St Andrew's is around 25 minutes drive, Cupar is 15 minutes and the lovely old village of Falkland is around 10 minutes. A car is essential. Our lovely neighbours are around 50 metres away and there are lots of walks from the front door which our dogs particularly enjoy. It is very peaceful and relaxing and perfect for a winter break.
Our house is spacious with 3 bedrooms, sitting room/snug and a large very well equipped, comfortable cosy kitchen/dining/sitting room with big log burner and French doors out to a decking area and then stairs down to the large garden with a bridge and a little river. It is a very pretty setting and people love the sound of the little waterfall. The countryside is very pretty around here with lots of trees and great woodland walks from the front door. We have excellent Starlink Wi-Fi , suitable for working from home, TV with Sky, Netflix etc. You would have a spacious bedroom with king size bed and en-suite. We will supply logs for the log burner.
We have two Dachshunds, Gino is a rescue dog and despite his background is a loving gentle boy, he is around 4. Toddy is just about a year old and is a lively boy - but a very sweet one! The dogs are walked at least twice per day but they don’t need long walks. They are not at all keen to go out if it is raining - typical dachshunds! They love to cosy up with you on the sofa - particularly on a cold day.
Gino and Toddy sleep in their own beds in the bedroom - they are very comfortable and happy in their beds and sleep all night. You must be comfortable with this arrangement. Lately they have been happy being left on the sofa all night and we are working hard to encourage this!
It is essential that we meet in person before the sit so that we are all comfortable and we can explain everything about the house and animals face to face. If this isn’t possible we’ve found a FaceTime call is fine.
We won’t be leaving until the early morning of 28th but we always like our sitters to be here before we go. We are returning on 3rd January but possibly not until evening. You would be welcome to stay until 4th to avoid a late evening departure or in case of a delay.
Unfortunately our dogs would not particularly welcome another dog so it isn’t suitable to bring your own.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Best wishes, Ainslie
