We need a house sitter

South East - Oxfordshire

SARAH

My dogs Rufus (English Setter soon to be 12), Flora (working cocker spaniel aged 9) and Dash (another working cocker, will be 10 months) need a caring person to look after them whilst I am skiing in Norway. They are gentle and fun loving, The cottage is down a quiet lane in a pretty village very handy for the M40 and Oxford, and not far from Henley and Marlow. The garden is low maintenance and backs straight onto fields and good walks right from a back gate, and we also have the use of a friend's secure field across the road. Sarah works (very) part-time as an accountant, but is otherwise busy with gundog-type things, music and tennis. The house has central heating, wood burning stove, good broadband, large TV with BT sport (!!), netflix and NOW TV, and a piano. There is a self-contained annexe with ensuite shower room if sitters prefer using that rather than sleeping in the house (own choice). The dogs are used to housesitters, we have had several over the years, one couple who returned 4 times! There is a really good pub in the village, approx 200 yards away and another pub half a mile away. Otherwise shopping is in Watlington, 2 miles away. A car is needed.

Sarah and her son were welcoming and easy going. The surroundings are so beautiful and we enjoyed our walks. The dogs were affectionate and sometimes a challenge, but we grew fond of them. Our daughter visited for 2 days and enjoyed the annex and the warm wood fire. We drool the park and ride into Oxford and a lovely pub lunch and another time we visited Henley on Thames and enjoyed delicious thrice cooked chips and the charity shops . We also took a drive to White Leaf and Brush Hill.

Sarah was very welcoming and introduced me to Rufus and Flora. Sarah had written instructions for their care. The cottage was very comfy and cosy. Rufus and Flora were delightful company for me and they loved their walks. I enjoyed my sit in this lovely part of the country. Thank you Sarah.

Loved everything about the sit. Sarah hugely welcoming, location excellent for easy outings and wonderful dog walks. The dogs were really great and easy to manage. House was cute, the bed cozy, and the shower excellent. The fish and chips and the crispy duck at the local pub, ye old leathern bottle, is a must.! Highly recommend sitting for Sarah.!!

A lovely sit over Christmas in a delightful part of the country. Many places to visit in a short hop from Sarah's place so dogs weren't left too long. Sarah was very hospitable and made me feel very welcome when I arrived. Very cosy bedroom with a view of the church. Rufus and Flora are both very affectionate and well behaved and I enjoyed being with them. They love their walks and will also happily curl up with you for cuddles in the evening. A lovely stay. Right from the start Sarah made us feel really welcome. We agreed to meet the day before the sit, and we got to know Rufus and Flora before she generously treated us to a meal at the local pub. Very clear instructions gave us great confidence for the house-sit and we chose to sleep in the self-contained facility next to Sarah’s comfortable cottage, surrounded by beautiful countryside; we also had full use of the cottage. What an amazing part of the country to find a housesit. We throughly enjoyed our time at Sarah's place looking after Rufus and Flora. The dogs are very well behaved and affectionate, it was such a pleasure to exercise them as they love to walk and so do we. There are so many interesting places to visit within a short drive of Sarah's village we were spoilt for choice. Thanks for choosing us Sarah .
