We need a house sitter

South East - Kent

Terry & Lisa

The Property:
The house is a new build town house across 3 floors. The location is in the new part of Bridgefield, Kingsnorth in Ashford, Kent. Situated in a semi rural part of town, we are surrounded by lush countryside.

Sitters have access to their own guest room, own bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space. This is in addition to use of communal areas e.g. kitchen, living room and garden. There is a car port to park your car, easier if house sitter has own car to get around.

Date Range/Handover:
On the 24th January (late afternoon) will be a handover, meet Millie, show you local walking routes etc. We fly first thing on the morning of the 25th January.

Also due to late night arrival on 2nd Feb we think it's best for the house sitter to stay the night, We can then have a handover on the morning of 3rd Feb, You can leave at your leisure after your breakfast.

Ashford area:
The town centre and Ashford Designer outlet is just 10-15 minutes drive. For those without a car, there is a 10 min walk to the bus stop located in Bridgefield central area. The last/first stop of the `B` bus route commences from there and takes you to all the main areas in Ashford. This includes Tesco Extra, ASDA, Ashford Designer Outlet, Town Centre and Ashford International Rail Station. There are excellent rail connections to the coast, throughout Kent and the high speed HS1 rail link to London.

There are several nice local nature walks from the house either for the sitter and/or taking Millie on dog walks. A 15-30 minute walk twice a day or a 30-60 min walk once a day suffices. However the sitter will need to use their judgement if Millie is getting too tired.

Millie:
Millie has her own cupboard with all her doggie coats, harness, accessories etc. She enjoys a play session too e.g. throwing/playing fetch with a doggie toy (she has a toy box in the living room). She also enjoys `pretend chasing her` when she has a doggie toy in her mouth with the sitter `pretending to chase her in the garden to take the toy off her`. Throw the toy and the process starts all over again. She also likes running after washing up liquid bubbles in the garden.

In the last hour before bedtime, we usually try to unwind from the day, encourage Millie to relax, lie down next to us. She may want to play with her toys, but we are quite boundaried with her. From 7pm all toys are put away and her bedtime is 20:00 to 20:30 latest. She is up around 06:30am and we take her to the garden for her morning toilet break, while we water the plants.

Millie is easy to look after, is very caring and loving. She loves interaction but also enjoys rest and relax. If the sitter wants to go out, please do not leave Millie home alone for no longer than 4 hours max. Millie currently has 2 meals a day. Breakfast = 06:45-08:00
Lunch = 12:30 to 13:30 approx.
Dinner: 17:00-18:00 very small meal - just a handful of kibble, possibly mixed with lettuce. A table spoon of chicken stock or Greek natural yogurt can be stirred in for flavor.

Who we are:
We are Terry & Lisa, a married couple. Millie is our first pet although we both grew up with pets. We are looking for sitters who have some dog care experience, knows how to interact and look after one. Naturally we are looking for a sitter who will care and look after Millie and our lovely home, whilst giving you a comfortable place to stay and see/experience a different part of the country.

Millie was gorgeous and so lovable. The minute I sat down she would be on my lap wanting cuddles, she was just like a teddy bear so I loved it. The house is new on a relatively new estate so everything was clean, new and worked perfectly. We were given our own room prepared for us with a lovely comfy bed and I just loved the pillows. Lisa and Terry were the perfect hosts and communication was great, we kept in touch every day. I would not hesitate in recommending this housesit or going back if ... MORE
