Yorkshire and the Humber - North Yorkshire

Sandrine

Hi, we’re a multinational and welcoming family looking for someone (an individual/a family/a group of friends) to take care of our beloved pets (2 dogs and 1 cat) and keep an eye on our home while we go on holiday for a week at Christmas time!
We need someone to feed the dogs and the cat morning and night, with a short walk for the dogs and letting them out into the garden. We have an elderly Labrador and an elderly cocker spaniel. The lab is calm and laid back but is still excitable however he now struggles on long walks! The cocker spaniel has a load of energy and loves going on long walks, she also always loves a big cuddle!
Our cat is around 3 years old and enjoys her own company however after warming up with you she’ll love you petting her and even sleeping with you.
In exchange for looking after our pets, you would have full access to the house located in the North York Moors National Park. Our house is very old (approx. from 1780) and listed with loads of period features and quirks. There are 4 bedrooms (one with a master bathroom and a sauna), two sitting rooms, a dining room, a large kitchen, an office and two gardens. The back garden is completely sheltered and benefits from good sun exposition, enabling you to have meals outside in summertime. We can also give you access to bikes if you wish. However, we live in a remote part of the countryside, with Thirsk and Northallerton being about 15 minutes by car. There is no public transport so a car is absolutely essential!
There are tons of things to do in the North York Moors and surrounding area: beaches, hiking, cycling, cities such as York and Ripon, etc.
If this sounds exciting please do get in touch!

We have just had the pleasure of House Sitting for Sandrine and her family and looking after their lovely dogs Poppy and Bentley and the very shy cat Luna. It is an idylic country cottage set in a rural location ideal for country walks, cycling and adventuring. All the animals were very friendly and easy to fit into family life with. Sandrine welcomed us into her home with a lovely card and gift plus a very detailed booklet with everything we needed to know contained within. Communication was ... MORE

JOANNE & ANDREW (Aug 2024 - 2 weeks 2 nights)
No rating Sandrine's dogs are absolutely charming, cuddly and well behaved. The chickens are gorgeous, different breeds and don't mind being picked up. The house is clean, pretty and cosy. It was a pleasure to stay - especially as the kitchen is well equipped for cooking good food, and of course having a sauna facility is lovely. The family is welcoming and accommodating, and the area is interesting and would suit those who enjoy nature and exploring rural areas. I would definitely recommend petsitting ... MORE
