Hello! We are based in the beautiful town of Lerwick, capital of the Shetland Islands. The town has lots of great amenities including cafes and restaurants, an arts cinema, a fantastic pool and leisure centre and lovely beaches all within a 3 mile radius of the house. The house itself has fantastic sea views and is south facing.
Looking after the house includes looking after our 4 year old cats (brother and sister) Jack and Splodge and our gorgeous and affectionate Labrador Halle Moon. We also have quite a few house plants but aside from a splash of water they will need minimal care. We have a master bedroom with a double bed, a spare room with a large double sofa bed and a child’s room with a single bunk and kids toys (our son is 7 years old) available to play with. Great wild swimming from the door, we also have a 3 person inflatable kayak and a 1 person sea kayak. Adults and kids bikes also available.

Lucy has the most delightful pets. Halle, the lab, responded to our attention and treat giving immediately. Jack and Splodge, the beautiful cats, chose to evaluate us over a couple of days before befriending us. Shetland is an amazing experience. The land and seascapes are spectacular. You have to accept there will always be a wind of varying strengths. The house was warm and cosy and over looked the bay and ocean. The town centre and facilities were a 15 minute walk. A wonderful off the beaten path housesit location right by the sea and also walking distance to shops, town, and a scenic dog walk. Lucy and Kevin were wonderful and accommodating with the lead up and during (once daily overnight ferry usually means a day of crossover at either end of the planned schedule) and really cool to chat with and get to know.
