Hello,
We are Elaine & Jon an early retired, active couple from North Yorkshire (both ex business professionals). We have been married 38 years, are non-smokers and have embarked on the next phase of our lives of enjoying our new found freedom, active holidays and new hobbies.
We have a passion and love of animals, having grown up with multiple cats and dogs at home and having owned a cat for 20 years. Jon also grew up on a dairy farm, so is comfortable around larger animals too. We've looked after ducks, chickens and rabbits too.
We love to travel in the UK, discover new walks and visit new places and realised we could combine this with caring for other people’s pets whilst looking after their homes.
We understand that it is a big decision to leave your home and your beloved pets in the care of others, and knowing they will be safe and content in their own environment. Please rest assured that we will ensure they are happy and looked after as if they were our own, making sure they have lots of exercise, cuddles and fun and follow their routines. We are also used to administering medicines left for us, usually for older pets.
We are keen walkers, so regular long or short walks are great for us. We will provide you with updates and photos whilst you are away. Please see our referrals from other owners.
As homeowners ourselves, (and having also rented out our holiday home in the past) we will ensure your home is kept secure, clean and we will ensure everything is looked after whilst you are away. We are also keen gardeners, so happy to help with any lawn-care, gardening or watering in summer months. We also have good experience of pond care, as we keep Koi carp and goldfish in our own pond.
We are trustworthy, organised, reliable, dependable and friends/neighbours in our village often call upon us to look after their pets and home when they are away. Jon also had a spell as a regular dog walker, helping out a neighbour who was unable to exercise their dog.
Elaine has had a full DBS check for the past 14 years for her previous school employment. This has been maintained as she now helps as an exam time invigilator. We are more than happy to provide character and pet care references.

Jon and Elaine were fantastic house sitters. From the moment we met via a video call I could tell they were very efficient and enthusiastic. Jon set up a WhatsApp group straight away, and we were able to ask questions and communicate leading up to the start of the sit. When they arrived they were very quick to pick up on what was needed for the sit and followed my notes exactly. Communication during the sit was excellent with regular photos and updates. Jon & Elaine looked after our home and 3 dogs for 3 days. We had a couple of zoom meetings beforehand to chat over the sit and ‘ meet’ the girls. We felt very reassured that we were leaving our home and dogs in safe hands and that all would be well very cared for..We received photo updates of walk time and some very chilled out dogs in the evening. (Even our rescue who can be a bit full on!)

What an absolute joy finding Jon and Elaine. We had useful conversations prior to the house sit which really helped us all. I felt confident from our first call that Jon and Elaine would be perfect to take care of Dot. They asked lots of practical questions and had a lovely calm style. Jonathan and Elaine were the perfect house sitters for a two week sit. Their communication while caring for our Labrador allowed us to relax on holiday and know he was in very safe hands. The house was in excellent order when we returned and we would have no hesitating welcoming them back (if they wanted to!) and would recommend them to anyone else looking for a capable, caring and conscientious sitters.
Jon and Elaine were amazing. We came home to a beautifully clean house. Bessie, our black Lab. was happy and content, and better behaved than when we left! We received lots of photos and messages, which kept our minds at rest. I would absolutely recommend Jon and Elaine, they’re super.
