Gina and I had been looking after dogs in our own home for two years. Having sold our business and completed the handover (middle of 2023), we then started housesitting (in between meditation retreats / live-in volunteering at our meditation centre). To date, we have completed many housesits ranging from a few days to a month in duration.
My partner and I are both animal lovers. We both grew up with dogs (and Gina with cats also) and have now been looking after cats and dogs together for three years.
As homeowners, we are used to caring for a property and dealing with any issues that may arise. We have looked after many homes over the years both before and since joining Trusted Housesitters (and now more recently joining housesittersuk - we are more than happy to send you the link to our THS profile and feedback) and have had great experiences so far.
We love walking, reading, meditating, spending time in nature and also equally love cuddles and snuggles on the couch with your pets. We are both vegan, non smokers and non drinkers.
Our housesits have all included plant watering and garden maintenance and other basic maintenance duties. We will keep your houses spotless, your pets happy and your cupboards stocked for your return.
Once we sold our business, we decided to rent our flat out and take some time out to work on our meditation practice. When we are not in retreat or residential volunteering at our meditation centre in London, we have been enjoying spending our time housesitting. It is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with and care for other people's pets, spend time in nature, and experience new communities - we are enjoying this time immensely.
