53, Career break from academia
Hi
I’ve recently opted for a career break after thirty years in higher education. I still volunteer for a charity which I can do remotely. I have three cats (two Siamese (one rescued) and the newest addition- a very greedy, demanding stray!. They have care when I’m away (although not the same as me being available for their every- there are many- needs). A few years back I volunteered at a dog rescue which I loved. I grew up in a hotel so I know about caring for property and understanding different needs and preferences. I’m respectful and calm but also enjoy a good walk/run, food (veggie), gardening and paint by numbers. I’m planning on getting a van for the rest of the year, but this presents another way to see different places. I will do my best to look after your home and any residents in the way you want and should expect.
I’m new so no reviews on here hence I’ve collated these to add.,, Review, castello Branco 2023
I would just like to say how amazing it was having Helen look after our dogs (and chickens) and our cat for 10 days at my Quinta in Portugal last year.
It's so hard finding trustworthy people and we were so glad we found Helen. She looked after our house, land and pets with great care - walked the dogs etc and we will definitely use her again if she visits Portugal. We have also recommended her to our friends, as it's difficult to get away when you have lots of animals.
5 Star service, thank you so much.

HI Hellen, Thankyou so much. I’m sorry if Pedro P was a handful but he seems pretty chilled now. He’s even forgiven us for the last minute decision! Thank you for also sorting out our patio and the weeds! And for the bunch of roses, I never bother to pick any so it was nice.
Marta
