We are a married couple (no children) in the process of rebuilding our house for the next 7 months. We are available to house sit and look after your fur babies while you take a break.

We both grew up with German Shepherd dogs and cats in which my husband’s mum was a dog trainer. Ourselves, we had 3 large Labrador crosses who we adored up until their final days at the age of around 15. We haven’t been ready to replace them and decided to immerse ourselves in a project instead. But it’s been several years now and once the house is built we will be getting our own dogs (and currently looking after a feral cat-Fluffs we name her). We will use this site to find a house sitter for our own holidays in the future.

I can imagine just how daunting it is to have strangers in your house. And you’re not sure that you can trust them. So I will describe us to help alleviate your worries.

I work during the day as an audiologist and arrive home early evenings. I am DBS registered and on the HCPC register too.
Every day I take myself out walking to keep fit, but it’s very lonely without dogs.

My husband teaches Taekwondo in the evenings and two after-school classes. So he is also DBS registered. He has been running his full-time Waterside Taekwondo club for 15 years, But prior to that ran it part-time so in total over 32 years. He’s well known in the Waterside area because people have been bringing their children (and children’s children) to lessons for a long time!

There will be short periods the animals will be without company as we cross over, perhaps around 2/3hrs maximum. But this is not every day.

We are currently living with my mum during our house build. Therefore we are available to do house and pet sitting as we are living out of our suitcases anyway.

We will only house sit in smoke free houses I’m afraid. We adore dogs, cats, rabbits and other furries but we can’t look after snakes or spiders, sorry.

We are free of charge, and would be delighted to take care of the house and pets for the opportunity to live temporarily at your home to do this for you.
