We are an active retired couple (both dancers), with a love of travel and animals. We enjoy visiting all parts of the UK and have enjoyed each of our house and pet sits to date. Many of our house sits are repeats as we often get asked back. We’ve been to one sit 15 times to date.
Jeanette and David have experience as owners of cats and dogs. We have also looked after chickens and ducks at house sits. David has a wide range of experience including caring for small rodents, and more exotic pets such as reptiles & amphibians and even Giant African snails and stick insects on a recent house sit. Other pets will be considered too.
David is an experienced gardener and was an allotment holder for many years, although he's happier with lighter gardening duties these days.
We are very friendly, so please let us know if you'd like a telephone chat before committing . If possible, depending on distance, we also like to visit you beforehand in order that we can meet each other, so that you feel comfortable leaving your home and pets in our hands and so you can go away feeling relaxed and confident that they'll be well looked after whilst you're away. Of course, it's also an opportunity for us to meet your pets and ask any questions we may have to ensure we have a full understanding of their needs. We have made many pre-sit visits and found it works really well.
We pride ourselves in leaving the properties we are entrusted to look after clean & tidy, cared for and respected and with happy healthy pets to come home to. Please see our reviews.
David and Jeanette were wonderful housesitters. They were very communicative prior to the sit. They took great care of the house and our animals while we were away. Even dealing with our poorly dog with care and compassion. They also left the house extremely clean and tidy.
Jeanette & David were wonderful, and always welcome in our home. They took great care of our three cats, and over 100 tropical fish. They kept us updated with pictures and messages, and the house is spotless. Thanks for taking such good care of our home! 😊

David and Jeanette did an excellent job of looking after my house and cat. It was really helpful that they came over the week before to get to know each other and enable me to provide a handover. During the stay they kept me informed and everything went as planned. I would be delighted if they are able to return on a future break.
David and Jeanette were lovely from the outset. Peanut seemed to warm to them very quickly and seemed happy and herself when we got home, our house was also clearly respected and looked after.

Although we had met Jeanette and David briefly last year (they too live in South Wales but further west) we always like to entertain sitters the evening before the sit.
They are such a delightful couple with lots of lovely anecdotes of their colourful lives, it was an absolute pleasure to spend time with them.

Jeanette and David were excellent house sitters. They sent regilar updates and pictures. We returned to a clean house with happy, cared for, pets. They even left a presemt and a home made fruit crumble for us!

From the first time we spoke on the phone, they were reassuring and clearly very experienced with caring for other people's houses and pets. Jeanette and David were wonderful. It was the first time we had used Housesitters,, fortunately David & Jeanette were experienced. They visited us the week before we went away,, fortunately for us they don't live too far away. Jeanette & David had told us they like to visit beforehand if they are able to, as they like to be able to meet meet the pets. We were also able to go through our pets' daily routine. We were absolutely delighted with our experience of having Jeanette and David sit for us for our first time using HousesittersUK. The communication was fantastic and we were confident that our animals were in safe hands. The dog is now ball mad so they clearly gave him lots of playtime and attention. We couldn't recommend Jeanette and David highly enough. Our pets were beautifully looked after, the house was spotless and we felt in very safe hands. We would love to have them back and will definitely be keeping in touch
