A Bit About US:
We are a fun-loving couple who have adventurous spirits. We are at a place in our lives where we can travel freely and leave only green footprints when we depart.

Jon was born in the UK and grew up in Southern Africa. As a seasoned Marine Captain, Jon is well travelled and is also an experienced boat builder who has extensive skills in various details of building, repair and maintenance. He is a 'master-fixer' who repairs broken things selflessly and is passionate about sailing, the sea and marine life.

Claire was born in Jamaica and grew up in Canada. After too many winters to count, Claire relocated back to the Caribbean where she served in various human resources capacities in both the public and private sectors. Being an organiser of note with a penchant for keeping things clean & tidy she has an eye for improving the status quo. She is passionate about helping others and enjoys making a difference.

As a mature, responsible couple we bring care and sensibility to all that we do. We consider it an honour to have hosts believe in us to look after their home and beloved pets. It is our belief that it is essential to adhere to the routines and instructions established by the hosts to provide quality, consistent attention for their animals. On this note, we happily commit to maintaining regular communications with hosts on the wellbeing of their pets while they are away.

Considering these unique and challenging times, we want to assure hosts we are responsible and careful with hygiene and are both:
* Fully vaccinated with boosters.
* Non smokers
* Non drinkers
* Holders of clean Drivers' Licenses, with our own car

Together we are a great team who are adaptable and responsive, quick to find solutions to any unplanned situations that may arise. As an outdoorsy couple we enjoy walks/runs and thrive in the countryside.

For each of us, our love of animals began in our childhood and the love affair has only grown through the decades. We are thrilled to shower fur-kids with kindness and affection for all the unconditional love they provide to their families.

What can you expect on your return? Happy, cared for fur-kids and a clean and tidy home to return to. This is the peace of mind we offer so you may enjoy your time away from home.

Why do we house & pet sit?
We know first-hand how challenging it can be to travel whilst leaving your fur-kids in the care of others and could not imagine leaving them in kennels. In the end, we only travelled if we found the right care for our fur-kids. Sadly, our pets are no longer with us and we are now able to travel freely. No surprise, we have found that we miss interacting with pets. For us, pet & house sitting is a win-win situation.
We have been travelling for the past year through Europe, Canada and now UK. House and pet sitting is a great way to see different parts of the world while staying 'at home' albeit someone else's home. Pet sitting also gives us the opportunity to be around beloved furry-kids of all kinds.

We love and enjoy the company of all animals and get immense joy caring for fur-kids and bring love, patience and kindness to each home. We feel its an honour to care for a beloved pet while their family is away.

Perfect house and pet sitters. Very friendly and considerate. Communication was really good - we did video calls beforehand, and Claire sent a list of dog care questions which covered just about every base. Claire came a day beforehand and we had a trial walk with Jaffa, our cocker spaniel, before we left. Jon & Claire were fantastic pet sitters, all pets were very happy and well looked after. We had constant updates when we were away which put our minds at rest with some lovely photos sent through. We returned to some lovely homemade soup which was much appreciated after a long journey home. It’s obvious that Jon and Claire are great animal lovers and we would not hesitate to ask them to sit for us again.

This is first time we’ve used HousesittersUK and were quite apprehensive especially as our Riley is an elderly dog. We needn’t have worried, Claire and Jon were very professional and their communication from the start was fabulous. The 2 dogs and 2 cats warmed to them straight away. Claire and Jon visited before the sit started which was a great way for both us and our "boys" to have an introduction. During the sit Claire kept us updated with news and pictures and it was clear to see the boys were very happy and relaxed. We came home to find soup in the fridge, a wonderfully clean house & most importantly happy, happy dogs. If you are lucky enough to get an offer from this couple, grab it without waiting!

As soon as we read Jon and Clair's profile with their love of animals we knew they would be the right choice. Proof is in the pudding and on meeting/staying a day prior to our departure and on our return it was clear our pets and house had been well cared for. In the height of this summers drought they saved grey water for extensive plant watering to keep our plants alive. The pets were very happy and our dog kept fit by regular walks and interaction. Fabulous! Jon and Claire were the perfect house sitters! We have a bit of a menagerie and although I left copious notes and was lucky enough to meet Jon and Claire beforehand, I was slightly worried they may find it all a bit much! However, my concern was completely unjustified and we returned to a spotless house and very happy animals! Oh, and delicious home made soup! Will definitely want them back and can 100% recommend.
