Sea Change Sitter

52, Senior Procurement Professional

Hi, I’m Paul and I’ve taken a sabbatical since December 2023 from an international corporate procurement career (including living twice in Australia), relocating short-term from London to explore Sri-Lanka, then supporting my Mom transition into full time residential care in the Midlands.

Starting a law degree in November this year (after much procrastination…) hence the “Sea-Change” profile name. Had only planned to sit until November but have met so many fantastic animals and owners, will continue to sit when work and study allows.

Animal lover, and past dog and cat owner (huge Golden Retriever, and Russian Blue who thought he was a dog) and have looked after various family and friend’s dogs whilst they’ve been away, plus dogs, cats, chickens, guinea pigs, horses and even rheas via this site (including multiple dogs on a sit).

Father to 2 teenage boys living in the Cotswolds, friendly, respectful (Irish mom so genetically tidy…), caring and discreet. Non-smoker and physically fit, so long walks not a problem. Completely flexible on location, only need being either WiFi or mobile signal.

Trustworthy, and hold government security clearances (including DBS checks), due to my “day job”.

Paul agreed to come the day before we went away so I could show him around. He arrived bang on the agreed time on the agreed day, so very reliable. He is very easy going and friendly and we felt we were leaving everything in good hands, which was reassuring, as we have a quirky old cottage and a bit of a menagerie of animals. We had a groom to look after our horses, as Paul isn't familiar with horses, but Paul took care of our hens, cats, rheas and guinea pig. He took regular photos and sent us ... MORE

LORRAINE (Ardleigh England, Oct 2024 - 5 nights)
Paul was a first class dog and house sitter. Our dog Renzo loved him and was clearly very happy in his company. Paul was brilliant at communicating before and during the sit, sending us updates and photos. He was also very appreciative of the opportunity to spend time at our house (despite horrendous weather the week he was here) and with Renzo. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or invite him back.

LUCY (Watlington England, Sep 2024 - 1 week)
Paul was a great sitter for Maisie. He kept us up to date with great photos of their adventures. They seemed to gave great fun together. I would highly recommend Paul, he was friendly and Maisie really took to him. I Hope he will be able to sit for us again.

JUDITH (SUNDERLAND England, Sep 2024 - 3 nights)
Can't recommend Paul enough, his communication was excellent start to finish and he took amazing care of the pets and the house - think my dog is missing him!

TESSA (Farnham England, Aug 2024 - 2 weeks 2 nights)
The perfect sitter! We had fantastic communication with Paul throughout, he gave us regular updates with photos and videos whilst we were away and we were completely relaxed, knowing that our house and dogs were in good hands. Paul is an extremely friendly and engaging person and the dogs took to him instantly. Our house and pets were very well looked after and we will definitely be getting in touch with Paul first when we need a sit again. We can't recommend Paul enough!

ALASDAIR (Warminster England, Aug 2024 - 1 week 3 nights)
Paul stepped in at the final hour after a very disappointing last minute cancellation by another sitter. Paul was friendly and very communicative. We met ahead of the sit and he was friendly and appeared very happy to help. Communication was great. Daily updates, videos and pics of the pets. Very reassuring. Our home was left clean and tidy and we have happy pets. I would use Paul again - and recommend him.
