55, Script writer
Hello! I've cared for sick and pregnant cats in my own home for Cats Protection for quite a while. I'm a non-smoker and I work as a script writer, which means I'm mostly at my laptop, quietly tapping away. so small furry creatures make the perfect companions!
I've been pet-sitting via HousesittersUK for a couple of years now and have gotten some really nice reviews from people. I've become the go-to sitter for some, which makes me really proud. Scroll down to read them.
Some of the reviews tell how I dealt with unexpected events — from cancelled return flights and London droughts to a trip being cut short due to illness and a cat with toothache. These things don't happen often, but if they do you can rely on me to adapt, take action and respond with compassion — providing all the pet care and support your cat (and you!) might need.
I joined HousesittersUK when my (adult) children moved out of our family home in Stoke Newington. Pet-sitting provides a nice change from my own four walls, almost like a 'writer's retreat'! Plus, I get to meet and spend time with your cat, which is always fun for me.
Every home and cat is different. Some just want to be left alone, while others seek attention, play, and grooming. I love seeing these different personalities and spaces; it's like a little adventure for me and even inspires my writing.
When I'm sitting, I will send you text updates with photos, videos, or even do live video calls to let you know how things are going at home with your cat. How much or little you want to hear from me while you're away is totally up to you.
As well as taking care of your cat, you can rely on me to look after your home — and I'll do this even better than I look after my own. I'm always careful about following any house rules you might have, like taking off shoes inside or not bringing meat/dairy products into a vegan home.
I keep saying 'cat' but I am also flexible in terms of type of pet. Over the years, I've looked after everything from dogs to ferrets to turtles to chickens. I have also looked after different breeds of cats, from moggies to Maine Coons and from British Shorthairs to Bengals.
A love of small furry creatures must be in my genes and I think I've passed it on to my children — when little, my sons took care of all our neighbours' cats during holidays (as well as helping me foster for Cats Protection). Now, as adults, they catsit around London!
If you would you to book me, send a message via HousesittersUK, I'll get back to you quickly to plan a phone call or video chat. If we agree to the sit I will see if there's a chance to meet you and your pet before you leave. While you're away, we can keep in contact via texts, photos, or videos.
I know how hard it is to entrust your home and pet to another person so I will go out of my way to respond quickly to any messages and give you all the reassurance you need.
For peace of mind that your pet and home are in safe hands while you're away, get in touch now!
