Shonagh & Eric

I am Shonagh and have been married to Eric - for 51 years.
Since we retired we've embarked on a new chapter in our lives - down-sizing & travelling about as free agents. House Sitting & being able to explore new parts of the glorious English countryside whilst caring for someone else's precious pets suits us perfectly.

During our marriage we've lived in Zambia & Zimbabwe where our children were born & brought up. We moved back to UK in 2002 for a change of scenery & an easier chance to explore the northern hemisphere. We're both British citizens.

We like to keep fit & keen on being outside whenever possible. We love walking - a lot - & exploring the local countryside. Dogs are no issue if they like exercise! Cats are a dream.

We're happy to care for your pot plants both inside & out. Whilst we lived in southern Africa, our homes always had outdoor swimming pools & maintaining them was a normal part of our life. Having large properties was a perfect place for our much loved dogs & cats over the years. Our family has always had pets but for now we choose to care for & love other people's.

Our friends say that we kept an immaculate home - & we'd certainly keep yours that way too. Your home would be our home. We're well versed in the necessary skills required in caring for a house, garden, swimming pool & the nurture of various pets. We are non-smokers & hold clean driving licences.

We offer house sitting on a totally reciprocal basis with no payment expected on either side. For the opportunity of staying in your home we promise to give love & care to your pets as you would like us to, along with the security & upkeep of your house. We are happy to water your plants and perhaps do some light gardening but our main responsibility is entirely to your pets. We send daily updates throughout your time away so you can rest assured that your pets are happy and well, if you want them.

At present we'd like to stay somewhere in the south east of England. This can include the London area.

Although we have only done 7 house sits on this particular site, we've done a lot on an alternate www. Over the years we've stayed with & looked after various friends homes as well. We have straight 5* reviews of which we are very proud. We're privileged to house sit in magnificent homes and are thankful for this opportunity of freedom of movement for a while. We've been doing sits since September 2021 & are regularly asked back by previous house owners. Friends of a lifetime have provided references (read them in the attachment link on this page) & we can produce others from our church or neighbours if required.
