We are both from academic backgrounds. Jan retired from her university lecturer role. She has a background in Occupational Therapy.
Tony also has a university background but for the past 4 years has been working part time as an art teacher in an International college and is looking at retirement in the next year.
We are both pet lovers and had cats until our last one died 3 years ago. As much as we would like another we have not done so as we have a daughter in New Zealand and regularly travel there. Jan has volunteered at a cat rescue sanctuary in Spain.
We look after a friends house and pets once or twice a year and have been doing this for several years. We enjoy walking the dogs in the countryside near their house.
We are both responsible and caring people with a love of animals but also understand the need to look after the house we are staying in.
We also enjoy the countryside and are keen walkers (and Tony a cyclist) and gardeners (we have an allotment) and enjoy travel. Jan was brought up on a farm and our daughter was a young farmer for several years.
It is quite likely that only one of us will be able to house sit during certain periods.
UPDATE: We have done numerous house and pet sits over the past 5 years in the UK, Europe and NZ all of which have been enjoyable and have had more than satisfied owners.
We were really delighted to have Tony and Jan looking after our house, the garden and our two dogs. They were a pleasure to meet, looked after the house and dogs superbly and were very professional. We very much hope that they will return to house/dog sit in the future.
We highly recommend them.

We would thoroughly recommend Tony and Jan. Our dog and cat are both getting on in age and our cat needed medication. Tony and Jan cared for them both with understanding and took our dog out for walks. It was clear that both animals were relaxed in their company. The house was clean and tidy on our return. Tony and Jan were staying with us for a night after we got back, as they were going on to another sit, so we had a lovely evening with them over a very nice meal cooked by Tony.
Once again Jan and Tony were amazing with the apartment and with Nala.

Tony and Jan arrived perfectly on time and took excellent care of our house and pets. They messaged us during our holiday with photos and the communication was great. We felt very comfortable with them in residence.
Tony and Jan really took care of Nala. Had great walks with no leash on the beach and even some water fun! When I arrived Nala was chill and Cool in her bed which means she had a good time and was not stressed at all. The house was as if I had never left.

Travel plans to the airport were brought forward at the last moment - no problem. Tony and Jan were very understanding and left extra early to arrive in time to say hello and achieve a good handover. And the week continued in this positive vein. We appreciated the regular updates and Syd (our cockerpoo) obviously loved his long walks and ball chasing as Tony and Jan explored the coastline. Tony and Jan drove a long way to sit for us they came the evening before we left so dogs got to know them , and so did we, great couple looked after dogs and house amazingly , kept us updated with photos and messages and rang when one dog was poorly with a reoccurring back problem and dealt with it for us , left house sparkly clean and happy dogs, recommend them highly

Tony and Jan looked after our home and menagerie for 10 days in September (1 Dog, 2 cats, 5 chickens and 1
polytunnel) . We dont get away much as we have an elderly greyhound who prefers to stay in his own home and so holidaying can feel stressful. They bonded immediately with all our animals and handled a difficult situation with one of our dogs with total aplomb and common sense.

What a pleasure it was to make contact with Jan and Tony. We arrived home last night to find the house beautifully clean and well looked after and the dogs and chickens in fine shape. Tony and his wife Jan were a lovely couple.
They looked after our 8 hens, the garden was well looked after and the house was spotless on our return.
We hope they will come back next year so we can leave our property with confidence that all will be well on our return.
I would recommend them whole heartedly.
Tony and Jan are a lovely couple. This was my first time using house sitters and they soon put my mind to rest. Communication was great, they even sent me photos of the dogs when I was away. All the animals were well cared for and happy on my return and the house was clean and tidy. I would definitely ask them to house sit again and would highly recommend them.

Tony & Jan stayed in our house in April and were brilliant! They looked after our bouncy labradoodle, our cat and our elderly Labrador and the animals were spoilt and happy. Our old dog was quite high maintenance & was unwell on the second day and Tony & Jan were very patient & understanding with her. We'd love to have them back again in the future.
Jane and Tony have been very easy to communicate with and I felt absolutely at ease leaving them Poppy for the first time for 3 nights (never done it before). I will definitely ask them again when they are free. They left the house in very good state. highly recommend them.

Lots of communication from their first enquiry which made it really easy for our plans to fit together, which was needed as we had a holiday booked for set dates.
Very helpful as they noticed we had accidentally left a bag behind so they called us within a few minutes to let us know.

Tony is a wonderful sitter, thoughtful and an obvious lover of animals. He has sat for me twice to date and Lulu my dog has had great fun and seems to enjoy Tony's company.
Tony left the house clean and tidy and I felt confident that he would be vigilant in terms of making sure the house was locked and safe from intruders.

Tony and Jan came to us for a week and instantly settled in. Our lively springer loved them and enjoyed long walks and lots of attention. They are a nice couple and left the flat clean and tidy. Highly recommend. Them and would welcome them back.
