We have 1.5 years experience living/working on a farm in New Zealand where we contributed to care of the chickens, goats and cow livestock. Julian also has WOOFeed for many years, and has experience operating heavy machinery (combine harvesters) and farm maintenance.

Greetings friends!
We are an English/German couple working from home. We have been housesitting full-time for the past six months, and also have experience living in community in various places around New Zealand.
Our house-sitting experience has been an amazing journey, where we have cared for dogs, cats, fish, guinea pigs, sheep, chickens and ducks all around the beautiful New Zealand islands, after living there for the past 13 years. However the time has come to move home to the northern hemisphere, so we are thrilled to bring our skills to the UK this summer! We are available June and July 2025.
I (Rachel) am a qualified Creative Arts Therapist, and work online with clients part-time, I love animals, and have a keen interest in crafts and art-making. I have a deep connection with forests and enjoy walks in nature. My work focuses on supporting those with complex trauma and/or neurodivergence, and I am looking to begin PhD study later this year. My own experience with taking care of animals is with my own pets back in the UK (cats) as well as housesitting experiences where I looked after goats, chickens, cats and vege gardens.
Julian, my husband, has a degree in Organic Agriculture, and works online as a Certification Officer for BioGro (New Zealand's biggest organic certification organisation). He is a jack-of-all-traits, loving cooking, DIY and woodworking. Julian has done extensive travelling in his 20s, working on different farms throughout the world, taking care of an array of animals/pets (dogs, cattle, goats, chickens, horses) during this time. He's physically fit and loves his strength-training at the gym.
We have the gift of freedom in June and July 2025, where we both work from home and are not attached to one location in the UK.
What we can offer:
- mature, considerate, responsible and clean people taking care of your beloved home
- non-drinking, non-drugs, wholesome living
- big hearted care of your animals, ensuring they are not just fed, but loved in your absence
- mindful use of your home, ensuring it is as good as you left it when you return home
- peace of mind and clear communication whilst you are away, knowing you have left your home in good hands.
