I have been a full-time house- and pet-sitter since 2023, travelling throughout the UK and spending time with a variety of wonderful animals. I began housesitting as a way to travel while taking a sabbatical from my work as a creative writing lecturer, but I loved the way of life so much that I decided to continue.
I sometimes travel with my partner (Andy), so I do sits alone as well as part of a couple.
I no longer work as a university lecturer, and instead spend my working time caring for others as a live-in carer. I feel I have much more balance in my life now, exploring new places while caring for people, pets and houses.
We have had a very happy experience with Sally looking after our 2 bichon frise for 5 weeks.
Sally is a confident and capable lady who cared for our dogs very well - they were happy and unfazed when we arrived back - clearly had hardly missed us at all!
Sally dealt with daily medication and a scheduled vet visit with our 13 year old dog with no problem.
Our home was just as we had left it and we spent a most enjoyable evening in her company when we returned.

Sally and Les looked after my house and cat while my long term housesitters were away on a trip and they have been an absolute delight to deal with the whole time... My only regret is that I never got a chance to meet them in person because they are such lovely, interesting people! Unfortunately I was out of the country the whole time. Sally is the most lovely person. Would’ve loved to have spent more time sitting and chatting with her! She came night before I was due to depart and I forgot she was here to house and pet sit.. felt like she was an old friend come to supper! She was super efficient taking notes about everything... she sent lovely photos of walks with pugs and kept in touch daily with their adventures.
