I, Judy, am a grandmother and teacher, and I have not travelled around Britain since 2019, other than locally, house-sitting for friends. I am about to begin travelling again, hoping to go up to Scotland, work there for a few weeks and then continue northwards up the coast before returning roundabout back to Devon.

As an ex-South African, I am intrepid and work hard to keep animals and home-owners happy. I am very careful with people's belongings and I have been housesitting since I was a young girl and since the 1990s more usually as a guest (or SERVAS member) but also simply to assist friends and house-owners with their holiday arrangements. I am fairly frugal and neat in my own living style so rarely need even to do much tidying. If anything, people find their home better after one of my visits rather than the reverse since I enjoy gardening and am not afraid to manage the larger responsibilities of house maintenance.

To set your mind at rest, I am also not a party animal but prefer walking, gardening or reading quietly if I am not working at my computer (laptop) for which I need to have access to wifi. I provide a good lap for cats that like cuddling and have had several medium-to-large sized dogs to care for over many years, but I find boisterous dogs more difficult these days.

I can supply referees from both England and from Scotland, where we all spent some months travelling back in 2018 and 2019. I also have some more recent reviews written from people whose houses or pets I have looked after.
